Yup..for 57 years, we were members of the Dem party..no more. Harris was a loathsome creature (and I'm a Californian) and yet, I might have voted for her, had she behaved decently at the Dem Convention. She didn't. Plus, if you put your energy into clearing the way for 3rd party candidates, we will eventually have one on the ballot, which we can streamline and control, to deliver the will of the people. The statement made in either case was that the genocide will continue. The onus falls entirely on the parties who, when asked nicely to stop buying dead kids, said "no" at every opportunity. I didn't abstain from voting this round, but don't blame anyone who did, because I understand that there are a lot of people who have personal connections to Gaza. The electorate can continue to try whipping entire demographics into voting the way they want, or we can use this as an example to Democrats, in lieu of any type of morality or ethics on their part, as to why they should stop buying dead children.

Can you guys have an honest-to-goodness discussion with someone about what the likely next steps for Israel would be if the US did what you hoped Biden would do? I've been digging through the internet trying to find answers to that and pretty much everything I've seen indicates things would be just as a bad if not worse for the Palestinians (and the region at large) if the US were to cut aid. The arguments make sense but I'm not trained on foreign policy and have no way of evaluating the quality of the information I'm reading. It would be invaluable to hear Emma and/or Sam hash this out with someone who is a) experienced in foreign policy, b) agrees with the end goal that the genocide needs to end, and c) does not necessarily agree with the US left's proposed means to that end.
