Thank you very much, lots of information and technicality words. Wow, it looks like Miami landing also. Never been to SAN, was the flight on time? because you mentioned saw mechanics onboard. Planes looks clean and modern, and yes I recently bought the wifi package from LHR to MIA, business class was awesome and plane also clean and modern it was a 773 large modern beautiful aircraft. When my whole family decided to take a va-ca, some of us decided to fly on southwest, but another family decided to fly on American (we’re going to Puerto Vallarta) on the a319 and when they were at PHX, American told them they can’t wear leggings, so after the women at the ticket counter felt bad for this, she upgraded them to first class (most jealousy I’ve ever been)

Cabin design looks really drab and dull, I guess a PTV would add a bit. I typically like Airbus narrow bodies over Boeing's however, AA needs to add some colour to the cabin.

The PED streamed entertainment is pretty much just as good as the in screen entertainment. At least, as long as you have your own smart phone or tablet, you can be assured the screen won't be broken from another passenger. AA is doing away with all PED's domestically I think, over time. I am a little disappointed too, but with the exception of Delta, this seems to be the new economic trend due to fuel weight savings. Nice review!! I enjoyed watching!

Unfortunately for me, I have to fly AA, since DFW is my home airport. The only good thing about AA is status and getting access to Cathay's, Qatar's, etc. lounges. Basically, fly JetBlue, Alaska, and Delta as much as you can.

They also fly 737s and A321s on this route, but the morning flights are mostly operated by 319s

It’s not the oldest one in their fleet, but it’s one of the older models. And yes, all ex US airways aircraft have this cabin retrofitted

Depends on the fare... because sometimes you can find cheap first class seats while other times they could be fairly overpriced. The food’s good and the seats are good, especially since flights to Guadalajara are operated on their newer A319s. So it would be your call on the price, which is what I always do.

Personally I think the "PTV" as you call them are highly over rated. You loose too much floor space because of the computer box under the seat. The aisle seats are the worst. I have a bag that fits easily under a seat on an aircraft that does not have seatback IFE, but if the aircraft has the system installed, it barely fits under a middle seat

Sadly yeah... especially since this is technically not considered a transcontinental flight by American’s standards. But you know what’s worse, United used to operate EWR-HNL as a domestic route, with buy on board in economy and a similar meal to this one in first, on a 10 hour flight. Although not sure if they’ve changed it
