Something similar happened with my cousin too, but this bugger would keep going back to her for a few weeks and again break-up after having fights. Once we threatened to disown him from the family and remove him from the will, he then stood his ground and made a guaranteed decision. Every time he tried to rekindle with her, he would take thousands of dollars from my aunt and uncle, and once they were broke, they would fight again and he would come back again. Finally my uncle had to put his foot down and told him that he will not be giving him anymore money, and also he had to find a job and a place of his own. My aunt was the enabler, she was given clear warning by her other children.

@@Kenz-f6f yes. But it broke him. He joined the Army right after. I was already in the Marines. We both basically spent the 00’s in training for combat or combat. I managed to marry in there but he was MGTOW before it ever had a named. And he’s stayed that way. I wouldn’t say he’s happier for it, but he owns his house outright and car, zero debt, money in the bank, so he knows he’s better off for it.

Assuming you’re normally a rational person, what’s the one thing in your life that will make you behave irrationally. It could be drink, a drug, comic books, shoes, your body weight, sex, or a specific person. Quitting any of them is hard, and will probably take many, many tries. The mistakes you make along the way could cost you money, friends, even family. Sounds like your brother found his fix. Only way to deal with it is no contact. Block all numbers, delete or throw out all media, tell friends and family not to bring her up, etc. sort of like cleaning out one’s house of alcohol when you quit drinking. Hope your family is well

@@Mantelar In the initial stages, everybody was happy that they were going to work on their relationship, they both would try to work on their relationship, only till the money he took from Aunt and Uncle. He would be back immediately after they spent that money. This guy never held onto a job, because of his mother's enabling behavior. But this happened for more than 10 or 15 times, and it went on for close to 5 to 6 yrs. Everyone was tired of their shenanigans, and that is when they had put their foot down. Both my cousin and his Ex were using our family for money.

I mean the story is probably fake, but assuming that it is real OP had a call with samuel where it is stated that the kids paternity is already known, even though the ex wife told OP she wouldn't get a paternity test until after the kid was born. It seems likely that she was just continuing lying that the kid might be OPs to try to get him to sign the certificate. Or at the very least she was unwilling to admit she already knew who the father was. After all OP himself said he doubted it because the wife seemed confident in the kids paternity before the inheritance. To be honest that isn't the dumbest part of this story, the dumbest part was how the ex wife expected she would be able to get OP to sign the birth certificate against the actual fathers wishes? Was she planning on samuel being on a business trip while she gave birth or something? was she hopping he wouldn't look at the birth certificate of his kid? Why would samuel let OP sign the birth certificate?

I have to say, I am surprised that Olivia didn't still try to hound OP for his inheritance through his son. The most likely reason is because, without Samuel backing her, she didnt have the legal firepower to sue OP the way she wanted to and try to claim part of his money. The least likely reason, meanwhile, is that maybe Olivia felt a pang of conscience. And that's why she gave OP sole custody. Still, I do feel sorry for the other child she's using against Samuel for child support. If he's smart he'll sue for sole custody.
