I am a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority and have never experienced any demonic experiences. Absolutely no hazing was done at all. The paper stuff is silly. We pray to the Lord and ask Him to keep each lady protected. The song does not say TO Zeta but FOR Zeta. We do Community service out the wazoo. We did receive bibles and encouraged to live your life according to God's word-which I already was doing and growing. I'm not a sorority type and was already well versed in the word and they do not use any scriptures that replaces God's name with the orgs or founders name. Remember this is not a church, it is a nonprofit organization with bylaws and rules. No kneeling for us. Nothing out of the ordinary for me. If it were I would have walked out very early.

I wanted to pledge Zeta in college. But I wasn’t strong enough to go through beatings, humiliation, and the wiping out of my bank account just to have a sisterhood. My friend is a sigma and he told me not to do it. He told me about girls eye sockets being broken from being punched. Broken tail bones from the paddles. At the end of the day maybe it was God that kept me from going any further with them.

As a member myself, It could have been the Zetas at your college specifically. Graduate chapters don’t usually have those incidences. A lot of people choose to join after college.

@-- Ok but exactly what are you mourning? Jesus said "Do this in remembrance of me!" But from what I've understood he has arisen! What you need to understand that it doesn't matter what religion, organization or "Body" that you belong to, that is still your own personal beliefs! Including Christianity! So to devalue others who have chosen something differently from what you believe in or what you agree with, does not make them less than! That's the usual Judgmental "Christian" way of thinking. For ONCE I would like someone to say why they left any organization based on their own volition without hiding behind religion as an excuse. That's where I'm going with that.

@beth5171 the only two ordinances of the church are 1) to be baptized and 2) to remember the Lord by partaking in communion. These are not rituals - these are mandated actions by Jesus as outlined directly in the bible as signs of our faith. 💕

@@Beth5171 Every time I hear about someone denouncing a sorority or fraternity, even if it is grounded in their religious belief, they share the aspects of the "culture" of the organization and the things that transpire that they did not agree with but went along with to be apart--demeaning others, being subservient to others, idolizing an entity, being mentally or physically abusive, sacrifices of values and morals, and on and on and on. Minimizing denouncement to simply religious beliefs when those include morals and values is a little bit off-based, in my humble opinion. Finally, all that is necessary to denounce anything or to join anything is a belief. A belief is something that you hold as true. So, if one's religion (one's belief in the principles and ideals of a religion) is the reason for disassociating with anything, that is all that is needed. Everything we do is rooted in our personal values and beliefs. When those values and beliefs change, people have the right to grow and change. By the way, I am not mourning the death of Jesus when I participate in communion. I am being obedient to what I believe HE asked us to do as one way to remember HIM and his sacrifice. He IS risen and that is my belief so there is no need for mourning.

I have never been Greek but graduated from an HBCU. Has anyone ever mentioned "traditions" that are used in some HBCU'S and the similarities to sorority and fraternity rituals? For example, consistently singing school hymns that use thee and thy, white dress ceremonies, dark room and candles 👀. Not exactly the same but I do see some correlations! Are the origins of these traditions the same?

All things are lawful, but not all things are constructive [to character] and edifying [to spiritual life]. 1 Corinthians 10:23 AMP Everything we do must glorify YHWH, so I don't partake in anything man made regardless of its tradition because the enemy is indeed cunning😅😅😅

@Unpopular Opinion I'm seeing how these things are ingrained more and more. Looking at these videos have helped me to see Greek mythology (false god) influences beyond the sororities. Even the federal buildings and a lot of our everyday language incorporates it. The Lord is revealing a lot that's been "hidden" in plain sight.

After listening to you, I went and researched the song for myself which is sung by some of the members online. You also read the lyrics from the ritual book. It DOES NOT say "With fervant hearts we pray to YOU Zeta each day" as you stated. It says "with fervant hearts we pray FOR you Zeta each day" . The former implies that the organization considers itself to be a god to which its members pray to. Also, the prayer you read aloud stated "Oh Lord, Our Heavenly Father, we come to thank thee for the blessing thou have bestowed upon us". The part you read aloud regarding the pledge seemed highly appropriate as even your response after reading confirmed what I was hearing you read. The "light of Zeta" can mean different things to different people as I interpreted it to mean "the mission" of what the organization was founded on. Others will have to read the rituals that you stated can be found online for themselves. There are many professions such as lawyers, doctors, presidents, nurses, and the list goes on and on that engages in ceremonies in which they place their hands over their heart while making oaths. "The Hippocratic Oath is perhaps the most widely known of Greek medical texts. It requires a new physician to swear upon a number of healing gods that he will uphold a number of professional ethical standards". Nurses typically wear all white from head to toe when engaging in their nursing ceremony. Numerous positions in the government often engage in a "swearing in" process in which they place one hand over the heart and another on the bible. In court before testifying, the person testifying does the same thing while swearing on a Bible before men and God to tell the truth. In my opinion, all man created "things" can be found to not embody the Spirit of Christ. For this reason, I believe God will destroy all by FIRE and will make everything new because of the corruption and wickedness that is embedded even in the seemingly innocent things we do. Even when you were denouncing and declaring your love for Christ, the sin of error was present. So, I encourage Christians to be Bereans while going and doing faithfully what God iss requiring of them to do. Grace and Peace to all.

America is a Greco-Roman society that has paganism interwoven in every aspect of society, especially in religion. The indoctrination is real and the awakening has to start somewhere. 👋 Hi I am very sorry for your terrible experience. Unfortunately, you’ve come across the wrong people. I am sorry about that. Every organization has some good and some bad. Even churches, but I know that if the organization is God led, there will be more good as a product than bad. I must say that I am a strong, God fearing Christian (40+ years) and a Zeta (30+ years). I can proudly say and thank God that neither I, nor ANY of our interests over the 30+ years that I have been a member, have ever had to kneel down to ANY alter, ever. It is simply not in our program. If anyone hurt you or made you do anything like that, that individual was insane. I also must say that there is also absolutely no twisting of God’s word in our program. In fact, we don’t worship any cats, ‘pledge our souls’ to ANYTHING, etc. in any part of our program. This is the HUGE difference between our organization and the other D9 sororities in all honesty. One complaint that I will admit is that our sorority works extremely hard in community service. Sometimes to the point of exhaustion. If anyone does the Instagram research, for example, we’re the main ones posting authentic pictures/videos about serving in the March of Dimes, delivering care packages to the homeless, volunteering in veteran’s homes and literally cleaning up trash from around our local communities, etc. *God spoke to me to publicize this message as well. That’s important to know. Be blessed and favored by God in His spirit and in his real truth. He knows what is in all of our hearts. 🌞🙏🦋
