Relationships in physical chemistry often involve differentials, like dx. These are infinitesimally small version of a change like Δx.
For physical chemistry, we often need to know the differential, df, for a function like f(x,y) that depends on other variables.

Well, I think PChem content serves a pretty niche audience. Sadly, the masses will never know the marvels of physical chemistry. But I appreciate your support

Hey the video was extremely helpful. Just one doubt .. In my classes we were introduced to exact differentials in context of state functions, (dF(dF/dx)y)x = (dF(dF/dy)x)y where x and y are in subscripts denoting they are constant for that partial derivative. Are these both the same things?
@PhysicalChemistry

Are you perhaps thinking of partial derivatives? That notion, with the subscript -x indicating that the variable x is held constant, is commonly used for partial differentiation. That's a different thing than a differential, but they're related It's true, as you write, that the order of differentiation doesn't matter
