Even if not the most consistent by modern standards, Ronaldinho is for me the definitive face of the sport. His spirit was not just that of an athlete, but that of a player. He wasn't trying to be a performance machine like C. Ronaldo or achieve the insane optimization of Messi, but he was a positive caricature of playfulness, skill, ingenuity and plain love for his craft. The guy would outshine anyone when on the field. Much like watching a match of Nadal or witnessing Usain Bolt run, when Ronaldinho was in, you were there to watch a Ronaldinho match, not any match of football.

Statistics did not say which cars they have driven and under which rules they have raced. You can apply this concept to soccer as well. More If a player score 3 goals in 3 matches with identical final score 1-0 for all matches is by far more dominant that another one that score 3 goals in one match lost 3-5 and with clean sheet in the other 2. The statistics for both player will be 1 goal per match. Coming to Ronaldinho, in his peak 2004-2007 was by far better than Neymar.

Ronaldinho was so good that you could be a Real Madrid fan and losing 0 - 3, but you couldn't hate him. You could simply watch his greatness and be in awe. And love the guy, even when he destroys your team, cause he was not simply playing to win, he was playing to express himself and make football a transcendental experience for everyone playing and watching. You can't measure Ronaldinho's success by the number of goals scored. He wasn't a goal scoring machine like Romario and Ronaldo, he's the rare jack of all trades that instead of being good at everything excells at nothing, he excelled at everything. He was a complete package, but most of all, he was a performer. The moment he set foot on the pitch, you were about to witness one spectacular show. Watching him play was like magic, always with a lot of enthusiasm and a big smile on his face, he would dance around, toy with, and embarass some of the best players in the world like they were amateurs, there's a reason here im Brazil we call him Bruxo(Witcher/Wizard) because at the of the match, he had you caught under his spell. No one has ever played Football like Ronaldinho, came before or came after, he's made of sheer talent and passion for Football, the guy who turned a sport into art. The ball was his brush, and the pitch was his canvas.

Raymar Football this is true. Ronaldinho was not known for his long prime in football. He was known primarily for two reasons: that beautiful stunning joga bonito style of football that was amazing to watch, and his contribution to fc Barcelona that showed everyone that Barcelona was a team to be feared. Barcelona prior to the arrival of ronaldinho had spurts of greatness but was always very on and off. With ronaldinho they won the league I think twice, and the 2006 champions league and of course the 2002 World Cup with Brazil. But once again, that 06 final didn’t really showcase ronaldinhos dominance. That game easily could have been Arsenal’s victory had it not been for a red card. Eto was the monster behind that final. Ronaldinho unfortunately loved partying, had won it all, and didn’t really have the drive to continue being a top class player. Genius alone does not cut it at the top. Only a few years at the top but those few years put his name everyone, inspired a young generation to follow his style, and overall, really helped put Barca on the map.

I have to say I liked the videos and all the information in it, but I really think you should pay more attention to what happens outside European leagues. Ronaldo’s return to Brazil was a huge happening, for instance. Although he was in a great shape, he had some really astonishing moments playing for Corinthians (and I say this is a Palmeiras supporter). But when I was watching Ronaldinho’s video, I felt I had to comment, but his return to Brazil was completely ignored. Playing for Flamengo he was in an incredible match against Santos led by a very young Neymar. I really recommend you look into that. What really bothered me is the fact that you didn’t even mention that when he returned to Brazil he led Atlético Mineiro to a first Copa Libertadores da America championship in an epic campaign. I don’t see how this is lower than being a great player in a champions League.

I think Brazilians believe in the concept of Joga Bonito -- Beautiful game to refer to football And no one comes close to Ronaldinho as a personification of the concept. I don't think I have enjoyed watching other players as much as I have enjoyed Dinho's play. It was beautiful, man. It may be childood nostalgia speaking, but these days, even Messi and Neymar and CR7. I appreciate and applaud them, but I don't find their games to be as beautiful and pure as what Dinho's game was. There may be children today who will grow up watching Messi, Neymar, CR7 and the likes who will think they were the most enjoyable, but to anyone who grew up watching football in the 2000's, Dinho was and still is the symbol of beautiful football.

For me, coming of age in the 90's Ronaldinho is the best of the best. His touch, his skill, his passing, his strength on the ball, his shooting, his skill, his intelligence in reading the game, his skill, and did I mention his skill? But beyond all that, it was his attitude to the game, he played every game with a smile on his face, he loved the game and it showed. He was an absolute joy to watch playing.

I have 7 Gf's I’m not saying Messi is not talent but I haven’t seen no one close to Ronaldinho in terms of skills + creativity with the ball. Messi is nowhere creative at all. He is more effective yes good yes talent yes Ronaldinho not even close. Ronaldo is efficient yes more creative then Messi yes better then Messi that’s a ppl opinion but I think if I had to choose a player to build around the choice is Ronaldo because wherever he went it’s winning taller stronger etc.. but Messi is not a bad choice. I don’t really like Ronaldo style it looks robotic with eye test to me but yet you see me praise him I like Messi style better it’s more free flow and wayyyy less robotic. Ronaldinho was those 2 combine + a samba touch that’s how good he was but he had nowhere the work ethic of Ronaldo or else he would still be playing and mostly have another WC CL etc... he could of been the best player in history with the goal with the passes that’s how good he was but he was also bless with a curse the curse of fun loving and if he would of have the work ethic of Ronaldo I’m afraid that we would have lost the magic of Ronaldinho and the fun creative in him. Such is a gift and a curse. Sad but true. But yes Messi is a talent for sure I’m not even debating that 🤣😂 it’s obvious but he is nowhere near what Ronaldinho was.

ChalinoTheKing I’m sorry, I must be a 15 year old that only watches skill compilations on KZbin. My apologies expert Anyway, assist numbers and goals numbers don’t tell the total story. Watching Ronaldinho there were so many times in almost every single game he would open up the pitch by beating two or three players and then pass it to a team mate that would then get the assist. Ronaldinho opened the game up like no one else could. The experts know this and that’s why Ronaldinho is the ballon Dor winner not Neymar.

A 33 year old Ronaldinho led Atlético to their first Libertadores title in one of the most memorable campaigns of the history of the competition, scoring bangers throughout all matches. A few years back, he led Flamengo to one of the most iconic comebacks in recent history of the Brazilian league. The video: "These late years are not important." I get it, European leagues are the most competitive/expensive, but the pure ignorance about the importance and difficulty of South American championships left a bitter taste in my mouth, as a Brazilian. I suggest you study a bit harder about South American football if you're going to do a deep analysis on a South American player, or you'll risk missing important stuff, like Ronaldinho finding his prime football in a couple of his late years.
