Fermentation is a process in which microbes help to break down the sugar molecules of food into simpler substances like alcohol and carbon dioxide in the absence of oxygen. Answer: In fermentation,sugar is broken down and the energy is released where carbon dioxide seems to be escaped and alcohol is produced so that the batter of semolina, maida dough etc.becomes fluffy and as a result the dishes made from them becomes fluffy and soft . For example: the making requires the preparation of maida dough ,when yeast is added to the dough sugar is broken down and carbon dioxide gas seems to be escaped. This process happens in the absence of oxygen in which the yeast cells respire anaerobically and no. of yeast cells are increased .Yeast is used for the production of alcohol ,in making the maida dough etc.Fermentation was discovered by Louis Pasteur .By radhika sharma class 8😊😊
