I’m taking Microbiology this fall and I’m preparing myself for it. This is very helpful in getting a head start in this world of microorganisms. I work full time as a nurse and I’m trying to advance my degree. Not a lot of time and very busy. I just want to say thank you and to please keep making more videos like this. I appreciate this well thought out and well explained video especially for a non traditional student like me.

This was a fun video to watch and brought back many great memories. I obtained my medical microbiology degree just over 40 years ago. There have been many new advances in the field since I graduated. For any student pursuing a microbiology degree, just remember that several chemistry courses are a requirement. I took 3.5 years of chemistry for graduation. I ended up with a minor in chemistry and if I would have pursued a few extra classes I would have had a double major. Best wishes & good luck to all the students!

@Dr. Wells Thank you so much for this! I am taking microbiology right now, my professor doesn't have any video for lectures. We basically are on our own, I felt so lost until I saw this video! I have my first exam for micro Saturday morning, so I feel a little better now that I found this video! Please, please make more.

Thanks for the video Doctor. I'm getting into microscopy and need to relearn (had some community college in the late 80s) some microbiology & a bit more on botany, bugs (to cover all the insect like critters). The worst thing about learning on your own is the gaps in knowledge, but the good thing is you can switch to other fields. Thankfully people like you are helping people like me be able to get evidence based science classes/lectures. EDIT: just peeked at some of the other lab and bio stuff you have have. I'm sitting here drooling like Homer over a donut.

Doc, you r the shizzzt. I'm starting Micro Bio in May, just took Chem 1033 and Lab for the first time in life, that was tough as a mother, but I knocked them out with A's. I need another two A's for Micro bio and lab. Hopefully this will give me a great head start, thankyou for dedicating the time to make this👍✌
