0:42 dude, the amount of work you put into every video and the way I can just stretch back and relax after solving a couple of your worksheets, there are no words for me to describe the genuine gratitude I feel for the effort you put in. Thank you so much.

just in case someone sees this, i hope it isnt explained in the later parts + this is a year late, how it was explained to me by my physics teacher (also Cambridge) that it depends of the s.f. used in the question. so if u get the values 1.23 and 732 for example, u would use 3 s.f. in your answer, but only the answer thankfully, in the working out stage u can use whatever (tho i prefer to round as little as possible to avoid a rounding error)

And I appreciate the philosophy of the video. To observe is to truly learn.

At 15:00, I don't see how increasing velocity increases the amount of work done. The distance remains the same but it's just being travelled quicker.
@Intuitive_education

The displacement doesn’t stay the same though? At different points in time the displacement of the trolley will be different (it would’ve increased) because it’s moved further down the slope from its original position X. The work done by F at point Y will be the same yes but the work done by F will be different at different points on the slope right? Does that make sense?
@Intuitive_education
@Intuitive_education Жыл бұрын
And then the increase in work done isn’t linear because its accelerating (thus the rate of change in displacement is increasing) hence the increase in the gradient of the line.

@@Intuitive_education The work done at point Y will be the same? Also I can see how power would increase if velocity increases. Shouldn't we calculate the work done by taking the total distance travelled and multiplying that by the force?
@Intuitive_education
@Intuitive_education Жыл бұрын
@@gordonchiew7341 Yes work done at Y is a single value and will stay the same. But over the motion from X to Y the distance is increasing as time passes, so the work done is increasing. I'm struggling to understand what's confusing you? I'm probably just not explaining it very well over message.
@gordonchiew7341

@@Intuitive_education Ah it makes sense, but I just can't grasp how velocity would increase the work done. In my mind, you are traveling the same displacement. Work done is defined as force*distance. I was thinking it doesn't matter how much velocity is increasing, as long as force and distance is not effected, neither will the work done be.
