Regarding the Maxwell Boltzmann curve. If the temperature is decreased the curve shifts to the left. This would result in a decrease in the area under the curve if the peak of the curve remains the same. Note the area under the curve represents the total average kinetic enegry of particles. Therefore in order for the area under the curve to be the same - the peak must increase to allow for the total average kinetic energy to be the same. Remember energy must be conserved due to the energy conservation principle. Also the peak would increase since more particles would have a KE closer to the average kinetic energy which is the peak. Because the standard deviation would be lowwer. Just some statistics knowledge. Math is useful for science guys. And to have the same number of molecules/particles your peak would have to be higher. Since the curve is narrowing and the peak remains the same it would mean there's less molecules/particles.

the 0,5 is 0,5g.min^-1 which is reaction rate. the 0,0595 is the amount of moles of CO2 used. He had to use the moles (0,0595) because of the formula n = V/Vm
