As a physiatrist I would initially examine the patient in a standing position. The reason for this is that you can see if there’s a straightening of the Lordotic curve. Muscle spasms of the lumbar paraspinal muscles could cause a straightening of the lordotic curve as well as scoliosis. I would also have the patient to perform flexion and extension in a standing position to evaluate for discomfort or pain. Following this I would then examine the patient in a supine position on the examining table.

I have no reflexes on my knees and ankle reflex is barely noticeable
