Should the operational and strategic challenges evidently have risen in the past 3 years? Could they facing similar strategic challenges since a few years prior?

The organisation could have been facing difficulties for a while (longer than 3 years) but you need to focus on the action management have taken in the last 3 years, and your evaluation of the effectiveness of this action.

Do we also need to include the reasons we chose topic 8? If so, can personal reasons be given for that and how much in depth do you recommend we go with those reasons? i.e. Can I just say; the models recommended to be used were most familiar to me and that I was personally interested in a certain sector --- this topic happened to be suitable for it.

There is no need to include a reason for choosing a topic. You need to justify your choice of sector - the challenges it is facing might be one of the reasons, for example, you might look at large retailers as they face competition from on-line business models, or the hotel sector as oit responds to the disruption caused by AirBnB. The justification for the models should be that they help your analysis and evaluation rather than you are familiar with them.

It is up to you to decide what ratios are needed tyo analyse management's response to the challenges in the sector.

Ma'am, what if the company that I have chosen according to the sector; also has certain connections with other industries as well... Will this be an issue?

Unless the other industries are a very large part of the business, it shouldn't be a problem. I would suggest when you justify your choise of sector, and then discuss the organisation chosen, you can discuss the fact the company works in other sectors. You might reflect on the impact this could have on performance.

Ma'am, topic 08 requires a sector wise analysis. But, is it fine if i focus on an industry analysis? (since sectors are broken down into separate industries where businesses operate) or should i focus on the entire sector as a whole?

@@PersisBenjamin For topic 8 you nned to look more broadly than just the organisation. If the industry has identifiable issues that management respond too, than that is OK. You need to explain to the reader of the RAP, which approach you have taken.

What are all the differences between operational and strategic problems? I feel like this video wasn't too clear on that matter. Can you provide any links for further research on this area?

Strategic problems are often the rsult of external changes in the environment, they may be longer terms and have significant impact. Operational issues may be internal and less far reaching implications. YOu need to explain why you think the challenges are operational or strategic and the marker will look at teh logic of the argument. There is no definitely right answer.

You do need to explain what you think the challenges are - if you can identify some as strategic and others as operational that is great but for some sectors it is not always possible. the most important thing is that you analyse the challenges.
