Great quality! And the sound is great too. Would you rather recommend the Patriot or the Dark ops pro X 1080? I'm currently looking for a fast camera that also triggers quickly. I'm after wolves that I want to film. I already have the HP5. It's good, but I need another one.

Greetings... my research groups has quite a few Dark Ops HD Pro X cameras, as well as a very large number of Dark Ops Apex cameras we use in forests and other areas covering close-in game trails and small ooenings. These are some of our favourite cameras and I'm a big fan of all the Dark Ops, especially the Dark Ops HD Pro X and Apex cameras. The one place I wish they were better in, is audio. The Dark Ops HD Pro X, is better then the Apex, but is not on the level of the Spec Ops... its not awful, but wish it was a little better. In wildlife research its important to have good audio so that birds and wildlife can be Identified thought their calls and other sounds, even when not visible in the video clip. Is this Browning Dark Ops Pro X 1080 better then the Dark Ops HD Pro X and Apex audio-wise? If so, this is a camera I would be very interested in for my research. Thank your, George Silver Hawk

Hi George, we think this model has received a nice little boost in audio quality. In this video you'll hear bird calls around 0:30, and the hedgehog shaking at 0:50.

​@@NatureSpyuk I had to clean up my comment a bit... sorry. I think better and fast then I type. I re-watched your video and paid close attention to your noted sections. I was particularly impressed by the Hedgehogs footage... when it shook, I could actually hear it's little hollow spines clapping and rubbing together. Marvelous... sensitive yet clean audio (no hissing or static). I appreciate your help... that's from the heart. I'll be ordering two of these cameras next week to put out in the field. If they're as good as I suspect, I'll put in for funding to obtain a few more. The Dark Ops cameras also save us considerable money, especially doing the cold season when we need to run Lithium AA because of the fact they run on six rather then eight AA batteries. One more question if you don't mind... have you ran the camera on rechargeable NiMH AA batteries, and do you know if Browning has a NiMH setting for the meter in the setup, as they do with the new Spec Ops cameras? This would make this cameras even more appealing! All my best...

You should see absolutely no difference, and we've had no reports of that. It will depend on how you set up the camera as the LEDs auto-adjust. If you think there is an issue, you should contact the retailer. It helps in a forest too when there is scrub/trees in the background to help reflect the IR light.
