I was bike riding back to my friend's one bedroom apartment and forth to my grandparent's home every other night past 12 to avoid the people I ran away from. I ran away from an alcoholic and abusive household. I had been saving money to leave state and meet the love of my life. I was threatened and so anxious on the streets as I was always carrying my valuables. I connected to classic hiphop and it pushed me through those dangerous streets. This music is powerful.
