The best part about Excalibur (aside from a great ride) is the theming. It has its entire dedicated section of the park and you have to walk over the "Camelot Bridge" to get there. There's a dedicated themed gift shop and all of the cars are named after a different member of the Knights of the Round Table (King Arthur is of course the front car). And when you walk up to the coaster you can see and hear it flying through the trees. 10/10. Maybe I'm biased because this is my home park.

It's like a double out and back, but unlike other out and backs, this one does it in a cross shape it seems...and hides it all by the trees so you never really see the other path back. Really cool.

Totally agree, I feel like the trees being there and covering up much of the rollercoaster makes it seem faster and more intense than others with similar layouts.

This ride is both incredibly smooth and forceful. The laterals provide some great positive Gs, and the layout is a unique take on a twister.

I found this to be running extremely well in late July 2023. There was some jackhammering during the third-to-last turn, but otherwise it was running smoothly and forcefully. I got a bunch of rides throughout the train, all after 3PM, and it was riding consistently well/as expected in different seats. It's the only trip I've made this year.

I love this ride- it's a great ole wooden coaster with some pretty sharp turns that knock you around a bit. I've rode it nearly every year for 20 years. My husband owns a school bus company in Central Maine and we bring multiple summer camps here during the season. If you're a local our biggest camp (400) typically goes either the first or second Monday in August, so those are the days to avoid if you want to go and avoid having to wait in line! Lol. The video is great- thanks for posting! Dragon's Decent is another cool ride and you can see to Old Orchard Beach on a clear day! The only time I've ever heard my mother swear was on that ride 😂

update: rode it last weekend and I think it's one of the best wooden coasters I've ridden. It's in great shape and they apparently recently put some Gravity Group precut track on the first drop--rides really smooth! The twister layout gives it some strong laterals in the second half.

i went on the ride today and there was actually a full stop at 1:47 which is interesting. I had a great time, though! another ride i’d recommend it the sea dragon, it’s basically a giant swinging boat. if you sit on the end you can jump and get more adrenaline (there’s only a lap bar, so be cautious) 5 stars for a park like this in maine

I just rode Excalibur and Ghostrider @ Knotts this month. Despite Ghostride placing 9th on Golden Ticket's wood coasters, I preferred Excalibur. Ghostrider has constant headchoppers and good lats, but the airtime was a bit weak and the ride's low capacity makes the long line such a chore. Whereas Excalibur has a bit of everything, a lovely wooded setting, and there's strong airtime on the drops and especially the speed hill section from 1:04-1:11.
