Great video! I will mention that I prefer a bit more narration of what needs to be done and how you will approach it and exactly what materials and rods or wire is used, and why if it not what I would normally expect. Thank you...

Man, we need more people with your skill/depth of knowledge to be teaching the next generation, it mostly seams to be about how quick/least amount of hard work that can be done by alot of the youngsters, I'd love to be your apprentice or even just your waterboy, would still learn loads. Props!!

We usually run the bottom wear strips all the way across and hang over the sides of the bucket. The way your customer has designed it will cause the corners to wear out before the bottom has and will require cracks to be fixed or the bottom to fail prematurely. Very HQ work on your end.

So mild steel for the bottom and Hardox for the wearstrips?
@allistairc1234 жыл бұрын
Yes or can go full hardox depending on what customer requests and budget
@timothyball31444 жыл бұрын
@@allistairc123 I work with a guy that puts full Hardox on their mini buckets, but they do alot of beating with them so I think the added strength helps them. For someone not as abusive, mild would be sufficient.

Rocks cause the most wear on equipment than anything else. The "dirt" wear plates installed on the back will help. Would have been interesting to know what steel was used in the plating. AR400 for example or otherwise.

You need a bigger welder and bigger wire for these jobs. It takes so many passes to build up any bead with what you are using now. The bead size and probably penetration are way too small for the material you are working with.
