Takes me back many years before Airarc, stick welding was my area, and all on Site where the Machine brokedown, Im 82 now and still interested in Machines. I remember Fixing the Engine on a Komatsu shovel track loader with a NH4 Cummins Engine, I went to Darlington to have a few courses on Cummins engines and fuel systems, called PT system Pressure Time. I also did a serious welding repair to the same machine, which was pretty rare at that time, so I was treated like a magician not many repairers knew how to fix Komatsu's, and Cummins Diesels. My Mighty Midget mobile welder was a gem of a mobile welder.

Hey, couldn't you engineer a robot arm to mirror yours and hold the arc gouger and grinder on jobs like this to spare you the body deterioration of the vibration? Work with a university on the project?

It's easy to put more air back into the spray cans just use the air blow gun pressed against the top with the nozzle cap pulled off

Decent all metal air chisel from "AB Tools online" i been using for about a year now, its a solid metal body all over so you dont have to worry about melting it all the connecters and such are solid metal too, done me well and i've had no issues with it, cost about 20 quid for the tool plus a few different attachments, ill drop the specs below. Just google ab tools online and in the search bar type "air chisel". I've been using the 150mm one but there are others that are bigger up to 190mm, price different was under 10 quid if i recall correctly. Even if it gets you through a year 20 quid aint bad, and its rated for commercial use. My friend said you can get the same model at B&Q also so may be worth checking there if you got one local to save on delivery, but ive not seen it personally so ill leave that up to you Air inlet 1/4" BSP (standard fitting) Chisel shank diameter .401" BPM 4500 (stroke per minute) Bore diameter 11/16" Air pressure 90 psi Piston stroke 25/8" Average air consumption 5cfm Total length 63/4"

I know it's 12 months late, but the reason these folks give you these jobs is BECAUSE ....you are the guy to fix it. People who run this type of machinery KNOW who to call, knowing it's gonna get sorted big time. Old saying... "Ain't no substitute for skill " FACT. YOU AND YOUR FIRM HAVE IT IN SPADES. Say no more 👍👍👍👍👍 Don't beat yourself up. Who else could do it???? And by the end of this vid. You will sort it. 100% Take care, Mark

Excellent gouging shots Allstair I could clearly see the separation line. Great to see a strong repair. I noticed a Lincoln 'Bullet' in the background of one of the shots, we had those in the steelworks I was at in Newport, South Wales. Keep up the good work and merry Xmas.

You should be using a short whip on all air hammers and impacts regardless of what they are made of. Keeps the quick connects from getting beat up and is less bulky. Honestly kind of surprised to see you arent already doing that.

Mac Tools have a great air hammer, good bit heavier looking than your current one, but main reason to buy it is they will warranty the ends, comes with 4 or 5 ends also
