Replacing a swing bearing on an excavator is a big, time consuming, and potentially dangerous job. If you don't know what you're doing when it comes to installing a swing bearing, we highly recommend you don't try doing the job yourself.
There are many videos showing ways to install an excavator swing bearing, and although many have great tips, we set out to put a video together with the goal of showing the best and most importantly, safest way to change out a swing bearing.
In this installment of ConEquip 101, we went to a company in Tennessee working on a Caterpillar 311B. The swing old swing bearing was getting sloppy and the owner wanted a new swing bearing installed.
We get video of each step of the process, including showing how to drop the undercarriage down rather than pull the cab off the machine.
Important steps include securing the machine for the job. The last thing you want is for the machine to tip over and fall on someone. Also, there are tips to help make things easier such as marking hydraulic lines to take the guess work out of line reconnections. Also, you want to be sure you have the right tools needed.
When you install a swing bearing on an excavator, you definitely want to give the machine some TLC. Get new bolts, check the oil, and clean the area the best you can. It's probably the last time you will be in that area for more than a decade!
As strange as it may sound, make sure you have the right part! Before you even order the swing bearing for your excavator, be sure you provide the right serial number for the machine. Check and double check the part number. Swing bearings are expensive to ship. You don't want to order the wrong one.
When the job was done, the customer had a new DYCO swing bearing making his machine turn like new again!

Es muy recomendable engrasar antes de montar y girando la corona de giro aunque sea a mano. No veo que hayan verificado el estado del piñón, el cual pudo sufrir desgaste también, por último deberían confirmar la planitud del montaje final, una leve inclinación puede generar un desgaste prematuro de las bolas y pista, incluso hasta un mal funcionamiento😊

When unhooking the hydraulic lines try and put a vacuum pump on hydraulic tank pool vacuum little to no oil will coming out and make a mess

Jbr Med If speed has not changed and you are experiencing low power it can be the engine, filters, or throttle assembly that adjusts idle with operation of the machine. Check all of these things. As for service manual finding one can be time consuming, most of them are not freely available unless you know where to look or if someone can hopefully chime in
