Many must know in the early 60’s I help my dad just like many here tear apart cat dozers..sometime hydraulic-cylinders and other times the final drive on one side or the other.. I am from USA..I learn to work and I learned how things worked..Like any skill building confidence is very important for young people.. Nice work here all. It’s great to see. In the 60’s we had no air tools either.. but we torn apart dozer and fixed them..Great-way to build confidence and set up for life..

They didn’t forget, they probably just weren’t told to do it, I work with a lot of Indian and Pakistani people in Abu Dhabi and they are not prone to going the extra mile. They will usually do the bare minimum to look like they are working or completing a job or only specifically what they’re told to do.

Was hoping to see that they'd pull the Swing Motor and change that gear(not sure it get replaced without removing it). But looks like it didn't....until it makes a very bad noise again.

That looks like an expensive gear! I'm somewhat surprised that they didn't try repairing it by welding and grinding. Also was that water sitting inside the gear? Is there some missing drain or O-ring?

I think they cleaned it wit pressure water. Old ring was quite clean.

Culture of their work is more than terryfing! All done with flat wrenches. If they buy pneumatic one, job would be faster and could be done by three not by sevem or how many there were. Obligatory add sand to brand new element. Ant in the moments where more people needed work only one or two... I am surpised that they didn't weld it. But what with worn and broken gear? It will destroy new element really fast.

Till two times "ouh" during tightening. They got three workers - small, medium and big and three pipes they put on wrenches, so they can get many settings 🤣🤣🤣

swing bearing is the proper term. basically a stationary sprocket mounted to the track frame, which the swing motor sprocket rides that big sprocket and rotates the top piece aka house. ps called a swing bearing because it's essentially a bearing with ball bearings all around that gear.

Никакой воды не должно быть, там ведро солидола должно размазываться.... Без смазки один зуб начал крошиться и за ним дальше- больше. Причину появления воды нужно устранить....

There was no need to hire the big crane here. The biggest machine they could use was a tlb only to move the undercarriage. I challenge you to save the cost and work efficiently and safe. We did that job in 12 hrs with minimum with only a TLB and 2 Artisans and 2 assistants
