Excel 2007: Show image according to chosen name

Thanks Robert, I didn't use the technique directly but adapted it to select images at random from a stack. Couldn't have done it without your vid, which was very well put together

@robertholland26 yes, you can. Since you're looking up a row number, you may simply use the random between function to set the possible range of random pictures to show.

Thanks for the vid! Got it to work on Excel2010. I am now trying the following but can't get it to work: Basically if no input is selected from the dropdown list, i want the picture area to be white/empty. But for whatever reason it's not working (it is always stuck on the previously selected image). Any suggestion welcome!

This video is great. Some genius thing i might even say. However i've noticed that when i clear the contents of the cell, i.e in your example the list box (A1) is clear, the previous image remains. How to clear that image also ??

Why do you have to disable the gridlines? Is it connected with looking up the picture?

HI, thanks for the vid. I cant seem to get this to work in my workbook. at the end when i change the ref of the pic to =IMAGE, It throws me a "Reference is not valid" error. evyerthing looks good up to that point, my concatenated ref all respond correctly when i change my data validation entry. i then take that and create the new "name" called "image", and place =INDIRECT(... at the start, and that is accepted. its just fails when i change the Camera pic to the ref of =IMAGE, it doesnt seem to like that! im using office 2010. Any help would be appreciatted Thanks
