Back in Lotus 1-2-3 days, we had an elegant trick which involved moving the focus of a selection to any of its four corners. Ctrl+Shift+End 1:05 and/or then Shift+Arrow Keys 2:10 whichever way has less columns for your intended column to highlight.

If both sides of the column you want to select are too large, you can also hold shift down and click the last cell of the column you want

@@kistornio - exactly as he said, however, you would want to make sure you click the last cell. Step 1 - ctrl + Shift + end _ Step 2 - click the very last cell with your mouse the target column you intend to select. if the column extends beyond your target cell, then just release all buttons on the keyboard and with everything selected, scroll back to the target column. Now hold shift and click the last cell of your target column. Works better than the video .. I hope he makes another video. HTH.

That's a great explanation. Thanks for doing this. One question tough, what if our column is in the middle of a large excel sheet ? it doesn't matter if we move to right or left by using Shift + right arrow or left arrow. so is there any shortcut for solving this ?
