MASSIVELY convenient! So nice of Revit not to be able to read Excell. And not to mention the easy quick 200 step process in AutoCAD. Fantastic!

Have you ever tried to edit the cell boarders? I get all the gridlines from Excel even if I don't want them to show up. I can edit them in ACAD but when it imports to Revit they all show even if there are no boarders in ACAD or Excel.

And as a bonus from Revit: It cannot copy and paste Word text. Now, you only have to paste the text into Notepad, lose all formatting, then recreate it in Excell (which Revit can't read in 2023), then follow some long procedure in Acad. Once that's done, you can link a completely non-editable version of the table to Revit. Now, let's just say you need to add a few words to this table...

Is this stillbgonna work when u have a central file, still that table will be visible to others?

Good question Sohail. I'm pretty sure my students used this process and kept the linked Excel file in their Autodesk BIM360 folder so that, regardless of which member of the group set up the link, all were able to access the linked file from their local files.

2022 and Revit is still in 2002 when it comes to linking to a spreadsheet. Meanwhile Autodesk is sinking millions into Generative Design that maybe 5 people will ever use.

I definitely agree. It would be nice if you could make tables smart that corresponds with room name changes and square footage changes.
