"Alear wakes up to realize all of this was just a fake flashfoward" this time its a fake flashback, unlike what was done in Awakening, Fates and even Echoes, Alear was indeed reliving past events but in a glorified way that differs heavily to how it actually happened. and the future party members on that scene make zero sense at all, how can Alear dream of people she never met?

It’s implied that Alear was misremembering the events of the end of the war 2,000 years ago. Supposedly, the people he’s seeing are the royal’s ancestors. This is further supported by the fact that Alfred is synched with Lucina (in support conversations, its revealed Lucina used to be Firene’s ring before it was traded for Celica’s). Also, it mirrors the events similarly, with Alear rushing ahead with Marth to kill Sombron by himself. This is probably Alear dreaming about an idealized version of those events, where he IS a divine dragon and a hero of the war.

When I first played Engage I never found a good use for two things: the Hurricane Axe and Rosado. On my third playthrough I realized 1. Rosado has nice base magic 2. Rosado can use axes at base 3. Rosado can fly at base 4. Hurricane has like a whopping 20 might effective damage against fliers So I boosted that might and magic stat and saw Rosado barely yet surely bonk current chapter Wyverns in one hit consistently. I later gave him Hold Out/Roy Emblem and he'd just laugh in the face of danger. Underrated weapon. Rosado too.

Really loved those streams. You obviously proved that the challenge is doable, but like you said in your epilogue some units with certain characteristics just fare a lot better. In a run that's not out for maximum challenge, but just aims to cut down the tedium of the Somniel activities I'd just allow for forging and Engraving as that really helps the accuracy/damage problems some units run into, making your viable approaches more flexible. You can even forge/engrave in battle preps/world map with mods, so it doesn't take much time either.

I’ve also just recently attempted this Ironman and have some general tips for anyone who wants to do it. Training weapon ranks with emblems is extremely important. Units like Chloe want to be using Celica early on to be able to reclass into Mage Knight later on, or Lapis for Wyvern Knight for example. Speaking of Chloe, mage knight Chloe is arguably the best unit in the game for good availability (weapon rank training), 1-2 range, enemy-phasing with Lucina, stats and also importantly stat caps. Though Pandreo is also still a decent replacement. Having a good Corrin user for dreadful aura freezes eg. A trained Celine, is also important as you won’t be able to take out enemies very easily and need to delay others. Some units don’t require much investment to function, eg. Radiant Bow Fogado, Great Knight Goldmary, Hortensia, so you heavily want your investment to go into a few hard carries, who can one-round enemies. For my run it was Wyvern Knight Kagetsu (physical offense) and Mage Knight Chloe (magical offense.)
