This video has both the cross tabulated trick and the double click to get transactional data trick. I do not know if that will get you what you want, but it's worth a try.

PivotTables make aggregate calculations, not extract records. You can use Filter to filter and then extract records. You can also double click any single cell in a PivotTbale and a new sheet with the records that make up that aggregate calculation will appear.

I love your video tutorials that I actually subscribed to your channel. I got an assignment asking me to create charts using lookups, dynamic charts involving an overwhelming amount of data such as sales that has to be sorted and reported daily (sunday-saturday), weekly, per promo and promo line, etc.. Maybe create cross tabulated table with non-grouped date in row label and sales rep in column label and sales in values area, then double click intersecting cell to create new sheet with all transactions on that date for that sales rep.

Wow... I never noticed the Slicer tool (see from around 12:30 on) before. That IS sort of the coolest thing ever. Very important! Also, I love the tip of double-clicking on one cell, like the one at the intersection of the "Jon" row and the "North" column, and getting all the stuff for salesperson Jon in the North region.

Only thing weird is that, in the last few minutes of the video, where it tells you to do dates, right-click, and click "Group," it doesn't do any of the stuff that's supposed to follow from that. If you right-click on just one cell in the date range, it says "Error: Cannot Group That Selection," and if you highlight the whole date range and right-click and choose "Group," it doesn't bring a popup window allowing you to choose months or years, or find the earliest and latest date.

If Dates don't group it is usually from data mismatch. There might be an empty cell or a date stored as text, or something else.

ExcelIsFun Hm... I went back to the source data, highlighted all the dates, right-clicked, and checked to make sure that it said "date," and that there were no empty cells, and then clicked "Refresh All" in the pivottable, and no luck...
