It worked for me, I merged 184 files. In my case I had to modify the 4th line slightly, since I was merging .csv files. So I changed the .xls part to .csv and ran the script. Thanks a lot.

Thank you, brilliant, this worked well, so easy and clean and has been a big help. I also modified the code slightly to pick up .csv files instead of excel files. Now to find out how to merge all the tabs into one. It would be even simpler if the code was just pasted in the comments. Thanks again for posting such clear video. It worked very well for me. Pay attention to the type of file you are trying to combine. The formulas provided are for 'xls' and 'xlsx'. use the proper formatting for the proper files and it should work well for you. Thanks for the short cut!!!!

Thanks it works, but when it combined the different workbooks it didnt save the name of each workbook in the tabs at the bottom for each workbook. Is there a fix for that? Its hundreds of workbooks without specific names so not easy to just go in and rename
