Excellence Punta Cana Dominican Republic Resort Review

We were here a month or so ago and and loved our stay. The staff are extremely friendly and hard working, the grounds immaculate, the beach very clean, the ocean a bit rough but beautiful. This is a resort everyone should visit in their caribbean travels.

Do you prefer Excellence Punta Cana over Playa Mujeres? I watched your video comparing the two but wasn't sure if you said a clear winner. We have been to Playa Mujeres and loved it. It seems like Punta Cana is very open air with all it's venues. Did that bother you with the extreme heat and humidity? Thanks for making great videos! ❤

I expect most people might prefer EPM over EPC, but that wasn’t our experience. We really enjoyed the open air environment at EPC it felt more tropical and was never an issue while we were there. The last time we went to EPM there were large, loud crowds of people out of control. We’re glad you enjoyed our video and would like to see more of our videos. Great video! I’m going back in January after 10 years, so excited! What was your experience with sand fleas/flies? My last experience was October time period and they were awful. Nothing I took to use worked (peppermint oil wipes, deet) and I came home pretty miserable from the bites. Want to prevent that this time around! Any advice?

Considering this resort next winter. We loved Excellence Riviera Cancun and the old Secrets Capri. How does EPC compare?

Thank you for watching our video and your comment, much appreciated. We have been to ERC, but not Secrets Capri. Our opinion is, we liked EPC a little more than ERC. We loved the overall open air tropical vibe at EPC better than ERC. We also liked the layout of EPC, as the resort stretches the whole length of the beach/ocean. We really enjoyed the 2 club pools at EPC. ERC is still a very nice resort, with very good service. This is our opinion, but opinions are subjective. @@shookiedo2178 It depends on the individual whether a Club room is worth it. We usually book a Club room because we like the private club beach and pools, plus we enjoy Magna restaurant and lounge. You’ll have a great time whether you book Club or not.

can you clarify exactly how many pools there are ? You said there was one very large pool , but then mentioned 2 other pools

Thank you for watching our video and your comment. There’s one very large/long pool that stretches almost whole length of the resort, between the resort and the beach. It’s like a pool and lazy river combination. This pool is available to all guests. There’s two other pools that are only available to Excellence Club guests. There was a small amount of seaweed but it was removed each day, and it didn’t affect our trip in any way. The water can be very rough with a strong undertow but it was lots of fun. Are the roads curvy on the way to the resort? (That makes me nauseaus.😢)

We don’t get car sick, so the road conditions are really not something we noted, but I can’t remember there being an issue. I’m sorry our video wasn’t what you expected and apologize if it didn’t meet what you expected. The video was meant as an informational overview of the resort, with some opinions. I’m surprised, but sorry you thought is was an AI sounding video, as no AI was used, it was all personal experience and videos.
