What a great air craft.... It's bringing my memories in '60, me (when I was 6 years) & my family fly from Java to Borneo (Banjarmasin) due to my father duty. It's time that I never forget, usually me fly with DC3 but that time we fly with Otter, beautiful flight. 💕

I really miss flying this bird. Wheels, skis and floats. Just the best.

Where could someone go to get trained on one after flight school? Is it even possible anymore?
@BeaufighterGamingАй бұрын
@@thestcroixkidCommercial or Civil? You’d probably be harder pressed to find a radial engined one, but there’s a very large amount of turboprops (I think).

The Otter engine has a particular sound which says "Otter" even before it comes into sight. Like it's little brother Beaver, it is built like a tank.

Such an amazing looking aircraft in my opinion, and those massive quad exhausts almost give it an almost muscle car like appearance.

Otter is a nice plane to fly. I got 1800 hours on one, when I was a bushpilot in norhern Saskatchewan

Wow, what a job, I'll bet you have some interesting stories you could share!

Can you still train on them? Where would you go to get it?

This is the first time I see a pilot starting up a Otter with mixture full rich... I was told to always start it mixture cut off, primed and open up mixture once engine had fired...
@jamesstephenpeyton33059 ай бұрын
I have about 2500 hrs otter time. Also Dc3, Dc4, B18. Never once did I start any radial full rich, especially when hot.

Is it just me or does the Otter just look wrong on wheels but so right on floats?

I agree.

Otter is a great aircraft. Like the DC 3, just keeps on "truckin'."
