I received my SN019-G last week and it too has a tight crown and was a bit concerned about that but as yours is the same, it has put my mind at ease. As it feels like rubber against rubber, it does feel extra water resistant and mine also runs at about 8 seconds per day. I’ll put a tiny bit of silicone grease on the crown stem to hopefully make the rubber against rubber a bit smoother.
@TheBoldHairspring Жыл бұрын
Yes, it's not a big deal, but it does require some extra effort. Other than that, it's a really nice watch. The silicone grease may help. I never thought about it.
@jensrefer7705 Жыл бұрын
I do not know if this is what you mean but the PT-5000 movement is a "tight" movement meaning that the crown will take some effort to wind/turn. The is just like the original swiss ETA 2824 movement which it is a clone of. It is meant to be this way so all is perfectly fine .-)

I would only get this SN019 if it had a glidelock, or their new OTF clasp system + some half links. Their OTF clasp system is for 16mm bracelets (at clasp) and not 18mm, so not sure if they'll ever do it for the 18mm. In the end I went in two different directions - a Ginault Ocean-Rover II no-date/black for my "good" dressy watch, and some Steeldive SD1953's for some colorful (hulk, smurf, starbucks) sub homages. I love both for their uses. The Steeldive I am super impressed with. I like that it has the newer style Rolex 126610 lug profile vs the older chunkier 116610 lugs, yet it manages to stay at 20mm lug width. I also like that it has 6 microadjustments, which should be the standard for any oyster-style links where each individual link is relatively long (compared to jubilee, beads of rice, engineer style, and some h-link). If San Martin can improve the clasp situation on this piece, I'll again look at it. Until then, for me a 4-hole tool-based system just doesn't cut it.

Just gotta point out that this is a better looking piece than previous versions. Looks like the lugs are thinner and the bezel proportions are more classic, almost vintage (not contemporary)

I got my SN-019G with Selita movement, 2 months ago and I've been wearing it everyday. I really love the look, weight and feel of the Submariner-ish watch. I may end up purchasing one of their GMT Master homage models. The only thing that was the bezel edge is a little rough which can grip fabric or loved ones arms when hugging. Mine did not come with the new case, but the old black "sardine" case.

I bought the blue version sn019g several months ago. Unadjusted it has maintained 0/+2 seconds per day. My daily level of activity varies quite a bit, but has almost no effect on accuracy. I have several COSC Swiss watches with worse specs. Some reviewers say they don’t care about the accuracy, just the appearance. I disagree. This watch comes through with both.

I've had this watch since March 2021. I bought it with the SW200. Well, since it showed up, it's always ran about 10 seconds slow and has always been extremely hard to wind. Well, while winding it the other night, the crown broke. I took the case back off to pull the crown and stem out. While I had it opened, I also notice the hair spring adjustment has been all the way maxed out. So San Martin knew there was a problem with the movement but sent it out anyway. I got a hold of them and told them about the issues. Their response was, the movement is running within spec, we'll send you a new crown and stem.......I guess I'll replace the crown and stem and then take the watch to my watch maker and possibly replace the movement in it.

Hi sorry for replying so late! Some of the comments I receive I don't get notified. The quality of both watches is about the same. I believe the cronos has a slightly smaller case diamater which might be deciding factor. Just buy the one that looks better to you.

@@TheBoldHairspring No worries, Thank you for getting back to me. I ended up with the Cronos and the only thing I dislike is the proportions and overall look of it. @TheBoldHairspring2 жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for watching. The sn019 wears a bit bigger due to its larger lug to lug. The overall quality, fit and finish of the San Martin is better than the Kamasu. Even when you add the strapcode to it. However, the Kamasu has a very nice dial and I'd say a more reliable movement.

I used to have a Steinhart ocean 1 42mm with a black ceramic bezel and I liked it very much. What I didn't like about it was that the markings on the bezel weren't engraved. They were glossy and didn't look nice. Also the magnification of the cyclops wasn't very good. Finally the clasp was very generic. However, Steinhart's customer service is excellent. So l prefer my Cronos, Lumes are the same, San Martin better case shape more like the Authentic Rolex Submariner. Cronos better sounding Bezel, Bezel sounds just like the Rolex submariner and the Omega Seamaster. Dial the Piano black dial on the San Martin is slightly better than the Cronos. So you thought the Rolex submariner was a boring watch. Rolex Submariner Stainless Black dial for many that would be there one watch collection. Rolex got that very right, its not until you try one on then you understand.

I got one on the strength of this and other videos, and I wish I'd sprung for the Swiss movement and the dial without the obnoxious logo. The power reserve is crap, and, worse, the watch needs to be hand wound each day. Ordinary motion and/or shaking 30x (or more) only give an approximate 26 hrs, and that's coming off a full wind. Nice case and bracelet, Chinese movement junk.
