The most polarizing thing about this new Civic is the design..do you like it? Leave your thoughts below! I'm glad to see Honda kept the Civic practical, spacious, and still relatively fun to drive for this class. Check out the night video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZoTbdYefbqhkeLc

The new design is great 😊 I think the selling points for the new Civic is the optional HPD trim and the Bose sound system. The safety features are very good. Honda hit their goal of making the new Civic a more clean modern look. Excellent review Nolan. Hope all is going well with you and your family.

Thank you for making a point about lumbar support. I need it due to a spinal injury. Hopefully Honda makes a change next model year. I went for a new Mazda CX-5 once I found out this new Civic didn’t offer lumbar. Plenty of other good stuff here though. Thanks Nolan. I like the exterior design.
@PrimeAutotainment3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for stopping by! It’s a shame they don’t offer adjustable lumbar. It really should be included even if it’s a manual lever in this top trim. How are you liking your CX-5?
@2004cyrus3 жыл бұрын
@@PrimeAutotainment I’m glad you asked Nolan. It’s typical Mazda, smooth and well put together. There are a few detractors but I have no regrets. So the parchment leather seats look great and I got the heated & ventilated version of the GT with premium package: but the seat bottom is too firm for me. I hate the seats. I bought a gel cushion for the bottom cushion. Lumbar is good. My 2016 Mazda 3 is way better: a Nissan Rogue felt amazing, even tho I wouldn’t buy a Rogue. Also, I wish the brakes grabbed a lot sooner. The tires should be more sticky. I didn’t get the turbo or AWD. I wish the glove box had a light in it. I wish the dash would tell me which setting the headlights are on even tho is usually leave the headlight stalk on Auto. I wish the wiper stalk status was shown on the instrument cluster like Hyundai does. Or I wish Mazda would made the stalks illuminated. I wish there was an dim overhead light that shined down on the console like Infiniti has done for decades and I believe you showed us that the Honda Civic has a light up on the ceiling that stays on to create a puddle of lighting on the console area. I’m happy with the CX-5 for the most part. Every know and then if I’m in 2nd gear and have to brake a little for traffic and then push the accelerator to get back up to say 40mph, it can feel a little lost or dead and slow to move forward quickly. I guess the torque in the Turbo version would alleviate that. I wish Mazda would consider replacing the piano black plastic on the window switch Area and center console area as all know that it scratches so easily. But she handles pretty well and the steering feels nicely weighted. It’s a good little 4-banger I think tho. I will say the windshield seems to get rock chips easier than any of my previous vehicles. And it feels like the windshield allows more heat through it than any of my other vehicles. I do wish I could adjust the center armrest higher and more forward like old Volkswagens. And I wish the CX-5 had hydraulic hood struts versus the prop rod. My level don’t come with LED interior lighting like the Signature has and I do miss that but I will change the bulbs soon. I drove the competitors and I would have only considered the Hyundai Tucson Hybrid or Toyota Venza. I recommend the CX-5.

Hey Nolan! If this Touring trim added the Ventilated Front seats, lumbar support. and a lighter interior option for Touring trim I would seriously consider test driving one. I am so bummed out no more Impala. I really thought back in 2017 when I bought it that they were going to stream line it while adding more of todays tech. The tech is great for it’s time. I like having the stretch out room being a big guy at 6’1” and 195lbs. love small car handling but feel unsafe at times. The Ride of a full size car is key. I did test drive the Camry when it was new didn’t come close to the impala for ride, and harshness. I hear this Civic gives a good ride

Agreed, leather upholstery without ventilation is a non-starter for me in So. Cal!
@PrimeAutotainment3 жыл бұрын
Hey Gene! Yeah if they added those couple of things, it can make a big difference. Like the other person said, the Accord offers the ventilation with lumbar support and extra room overall, plus a softer ride. It still probably doesn’t feel as plush as the impala, it’s a shame those are gone! Like you said the 2017 Camry definitely doesn’t have the best ride. It’s better with 2018 and newer but still
@jjacob251013 жыл бұрын
On the Touring Trim, I believe certain exterior colors are available with the lighter colored interior. It's too bad they don't have some of those extra features like the ventilated seats snd lumbar support, but it's probably because Honda was trying to keep each trim level to a set price point. I was raised on GM cars, but switching to Honda/Toyota, more likely a Honda Sport/Touring Sedan or Sport Touring Hatchback. I had a fully loaded 1977 Buick Regsl S/R, a 1981 Buick Regal Sport Coupe, a 1984 Buick GN, a 2000 Chevy Impala LS a 2006 Chevy Impala SS with Flowmaster exhaust, and a 2011 Chevy Cruze RS. In retrospect, the 2000 Impala LS silver Trunk monkey Edition was my favorite most trouble free car. I even liked it better than my GN and SS, even though the GN was so nice, with the Lear Siegler bucket seats with lumbar support and the SS had the 5.3L V8 nice wheels and those Flowmasters. The Cruze was nice, but it was a lemon. One of the most problematic cars out there. I found that out years before I found Scotty Kilmer on KZbin. My friend was selling his pristine black 1996 Impala SS with Flowmaster exhaust. It was always clean, detsiled, and nott thrashed and abused. I should have bought that, instead of my 2000 Impala, but ot was so big. I didn't know I could have gotten a loan from my work 201K account until later. That was probably the best full sized GM RWD performance cars ever. The Tahoe Limited with the same engine snd police package running gear I almost got was pribably one of the Best GM SUVs. The last Impala was really nice, with a super huge trunk, especially the loaded black edition, it was like my Impala SS but so problematic. So sad. So many of us had that loyalty and so many fond memories with the GM cars through the years from way back. This Civic Touring or the Sport Touring Hatchback would suit me fine. Confort, sport handling and appearance, tech, safety, but most importantly reliability, dependability, durability and longevity without high repair and maintenance cost, and safety is key.

The new jingle: Honda Civic forever noisy. The 2023 Civic Touring will be very much identical to the 2022 model. Do not expect any upgrades or changes, just computer program updates and minor safety stuff corrected. Also, expect to pay a bit more as the MSRP has increased $500 to $1,000 than what it was for the 2022 Civic Touring. Practically the same car just cost you more money, What a bum deal? So, in April 2021 the MSRP was $28,300 + $995 Destination & Handling total of $29,295, then by late 2022 was $29,150 + $1,095 Dest. & Handling total of $30,245, so you paid $850 more by waiting. Dealers Invoice was likely $26,500 to $27,500 on the Touring or about 10 percent of the MSRP making at least $2,500 to $3,000 for each new car that sold in the range of $22K to $30K. Dealers get rewards and other bonuses for selling you Vehicle Service Contracts and Undercoating Rust Services at nearly double the price, you should find the service provider yourself and save tons of money. Don't fall for Zurich VSC as cost a fortune. Accessories, you have to decide what extra stuff you want added to your car, Dealers make money from that too by tacking on another 25 percent increase for each item. example the item cost $100 they charge you $125 not including installation fee. If you bought the 11th Gen Civic, enjoy your Baby Accord.

@PrimeAutotainment3 жыл бұрын
Lol - this one has 177 lb-ft and it comes out very early with the turbo. For this class it’s quick and punchy. Obviously it’s not quick compared to some sports cars but relative to everything else it competes with, it’s quick. No bias around here. The naturally aspirated engine has a lot less torque, and is not nearly as swift as this, but still not bad compared to some of the competition.
