Poor Rita was endlessly mocked for this interview with RH. The tabloids attacked her for being very drunk but it was revealed years later, she was in the grip of Alzheimer's Disease. Back in 1976, very few people had an understanding of that cruel illness and it was the final indignity for a woman who had such a star-crossed life. What a terrible shame. Rita deserved better.

I find her answers very smart and she doesn't come out as confused. In fact she gave some very good answers to his misogynistic questions. Like "what does a sex goddess really mean" - "She must be sexy... I don't know...!" "How did ladies dresses stay up - For two good reasons." Her replies are clever while she is pointing out the obvious to this total idiot.

I thought she was quite cute. She just seemed unsure how to answer some of his questions because he's asking her about things that happened a long time ago and to be fair, many actors don't remember much of films they did years ago. I can also understand her confusion at what a 'sex goddess' is. I think many different types of women can be a sex goddess, it's just maybe the common ground is that she tends to be gorgeous and have a 'presence.' Rita also was quite shy in person apparently, so she found people's perception of her surprising :)

As the book _If This Was Happiness_ revealed, she had Altzheimer's, and she was barely keeping it together; in fact, on the flight over to England, she had two outbursts, accusing a stewardess of not liking her and also exploding at a couple that gave her a glass of champagne due to their getting married. Also, when she arrived at Heathrow, she was disleveled and in a state of agitation; clearly, she shouldn't have been giving any interviews to anybody at all, regardless of the questions asked, or making any appearances, period.

The real reason the dress stayed up was because designer Jean Louise lined the bust with a plastic mold….that is why that area does not move during her dance routine. Demi Moore wore that iconic dress to an opening of a Planet Hollywood restaurant in Las Vegas she & husband Bruce Willis were investors in the restaurant. It would be nice to know where that famous dress is now.
