I’ve been watching a ton of great investment videos on factor investing - these two with Swedroe opened up a new line of thinking for me. Great stuff!

Larry is always a fantastic guest. I’ve read a few of his books and they’ve absolutely influenced how I invest. When it comes to the funds dealing in credit, reinsurance, life policies, etc is there a real market for retail investors? It’s a difficult space to properly research and find good funds.

Swedroe is a serious professional, he clarified alot. I only believe a retail investor can not access easily those complex factors, but its much cheaper and easy to buy a low cost big index, like sp500, along with short to intermediate bonds. Efficient market is a model, of course is not perfect, but it is very efficient. To "beat" this model, you need to find other models, like factors, that chop a slice of a market and try to capture some behaviour. But backtest shows is rarely the case. Anyway, very interesting video

I’m curious what Larry thinks about the few private credit funds available to retail investors? For some of us with smaller unmanaged accounts, there isn’t much available. TAKNX (Carlyle), KCOPX and FBSPX (Franklin) are available through SoFi, but I don’t think they hold the same investments as the Cliffwater fund.
