Hello! I'm new to this and I'm on Kraken. I want to buy monero to spend and not to hold onto. Do I have to buy bitcoin first and then exchange it to monero? Cuz when I hit buy monero on the site it won't show that I can buy monero. It's bitcoin. And is it better to exchange the bitcoin to monero on Kraken or send the bitcoin to my wallet and then exchange it? Thank you!!

You can be only in one wallet at a time. If you convert the recieved amount will be in the wallet u transferred to in this case Bitcoin -> Monroe

Of course sending BTC to that exchange wallet would cost alot to move. If you choose lower amount, it will get stuck in limbo. I've had a transaction stuck for well over a week already. Moving BTC is like pulling teeth now days, unless you pay hefty fee.

We just released an updated version of the Cake Wallet app which now allows you to create your own BTC wallet! If you create a new BTC wallet (please be sure to write down your BTC wallet's seed!) using the Cake Wallet app, you would certainly be able to send your BTC to the BTC address you see in your Cake Wallet app after creating a BTC wallet. If you are looking to create a BTC for XMR exchange, for example, then it is not recommended that you send directly from an exchange such as Coinbase or Kraken to the exchange provider's BTC address; you'd be better off sending the BTC from Coinbase or Kraken to your personal BTC wallet first, then creating the exchange, and sending the BTC to the BTC address provided by the exchange provider.

@@sliceoflife5812 I worked out why it's a different address - you're not sending it directly to your own address because they're different currencies so you can't. You have to send it to a third address to be converted. I did it and it was fine

I kinda freaked out when the recipient address from the sent transaction was not my XMR wallet. I just checked and like you said it does day that its going to be forwarded from there to my wallet, just gotta be patient. Seems like everything is on its way, still reached out to support. I knew I didnt copy paste any address and I usually am intricately careful with this so that unknown address made me panic a bit lol. Actually jumped on my cold wallet to make sure everything was good. 😅Thanks again mate!

@@moneromonero15 the thing is the blocks take long to build up and i think it sucks because you would go to your wallet one day and the money is there then when u go again the money is not and u have to wait all day for the blocks to complete which is fustrating when u need to use right away then sometimes when the blocks are almost compelte the app crashes which gets me even more angry this whole thing sucks need to get a better wallet to use
