I was a cheerleader and cheer coach. Cheer is a lot different than people think especially for a Comp team. It’s a big deal and a whole different world. But so fun and rewarding. Go Suzie! ❤️

First, Nacho is such an amazing kicker. Second, I think Susie can make the competition cheer team. I suggest Susie to also try out track bc I heard a lot of ex-gymnast really enjoy track.

I did competitive cheer for 3 years... seriously the best choice I ever made socially in high school. It taught me so much about teamwork and has helped me at all the jobs I’ve had because of how quickly I am able to pick things up in a fast paced environment!

I was in comp cheer for 12 years and coached for 15 years. Tryouts for cheer usually involve learning a cheer, learning a dance, showing your jumps, doing a partner stunt, and showing your tumbling. As a former competitive cheer leader and coach....I can tell you that comp cheer is very serious. The parents are very cut throat. Cheer moms are THE worst. They will backstab you, gossip about you and do everything they can to get their kid ahead. With cheer...if a person is absent then the entire team suffers because you cannot do the routine without them. If someone misses a competition that is an even bigger issue because the entire routine has to be adjusted last minute. From a coach and team perspective...it's a nightmare when someone isn't there. That is why we are so harsh about missing practice. Honestly, if she makes the team...send Davy to practices. The moms won't be able to get him involved in the drama. (Men are wired different than women). Cheer moms are truly the worst. I hope you can stay out of it April. If Suzy wants to do it...it can be a great opportunity for teens. It taught me how to be self motivated and how to push through hard things. Those are good skills for life. This kids are great!! But the cheer moms are so much drama. It's like the Housewives on steroids.

I am with you April I love summer having all my kids at home safe and sound! Iam wondering if you have this trouble when school is back in I am having a hard time getting them up at 6:30 in the morning for school and not missing the bus! I've never precooked my eggs when making pickled eggs. The acetic acid/Vinegar usually dissolves the shell and chemically cooks the eggs. Your way is much faster for sure.

I get that Susi wants to do cheer but competitive cheer is more then you think. It costs a TON, and you have to travel a bunch and I don't know how well that can be handled. I would suggest trying another sport. I know many people that have done competitive cheer and it's a lot.

i think susie should consider maybe swimming. the competition team sounds like alot especially when they want them to practice everyday of the week. like they need to have a life as well. maybe look into something less hectic. susie surely wants to enjoy her time here and its only for the school year sadly. either way i hope shes happy with whatever she chooses.

She needs to think long and hard before joining the cheer team it's very very strict and competitive and it's alot and very strict but it has to be because each person had a special roll! So maybe that wouldn't be the best fit for your family as a whole.
