My Westie hated swimming, baths, beach. I recall one day we were walking along the beach and it suddenly started to rain (we live in Australia and weather can shift in a minute), he ran and threw himself on the first towel he spotted and started drying himself and boycotting the rain. He had a habit of making his anger known. Just as I ran to pick him up, the owner of the towel who had just finished swimming arrived and he wasn’t at all impressed finding a Westie on his back furiously drying himself. Been 16 years since this event and still brings a smile.

The best part is you can tell that just like humans the precious dog likes doing jumps in the pool and gets out to keep jumping in 🥺 what a good doggie!

My two Westies growing up hated water, especially when they had to take a bath. But sometimes we would put them in our pool for a quick wash. They would swim to the steps as fast as they could. That made it very clear that Westies were not water dogs.

Absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this dog!! My own boyfriend hates going swimming with me and when he does, he swims for about 5 minutes before he gets out. Lol! Christy and I would be AWESOME swimming buddies!! If you ever want to get rid of this dog, I would gladly take her! Lol!!!

My Westie refuses to get her feet wet and hides when it is bath time. She also avoids getting her feet dirty and you can even forget about snow. Tried boots and the way she reacts to getting her boots I feel like I'm torturing her. Oh well!

I had a yorkie who would jump in the pool after going for a walk on a hot day. But she would jump in, then swim to the stairs and sit (because she was hot and just wanted to cool off). When she didn't go for long walks, she would sometimes swim around.
