I work with special education children. They are sometimes the forgotten population. This rescue made a larger impact on this community's life than you will ever know. It created a better quality of life and that in the end is the only thing that really matters besides unconditional love. Thanks George to you and your heart-filled team.

Brilliant design makes this rescue a major hit. I love that George organised the volunteers to paint the hallways, it made a huge difference, so much cleaner and brighter. The entire programs is so beneficial for the adults who are unable to work, but cannot be left alone or should not be left alone. Everyone needs friends and a community, this place is a godsend.

Thanks to George to the Rescue, that made it possible. I also like to give thanks to the designer he is the one that put his heart into the designs of the place and made it comes to life. He is so gifted and brilliant, they should have given recognition to him more. God Bless! To all the precious students and the staff.

I agree with those that suggest the cupboards and cabinets be re-cycled, but if they're anything like mine at home...I would trash them. They are too rotten or broken to repair and re-use.

In future episodes like this, it might be worth getting some advice on creating designs that support people with sensory processing difficulties to be able to self-regulate in that space. The black and white, high contrast, checkered pattern, hard floor, for example, would be an instant sensory overload for a lot of my guys, making it hard for them to use the room. Sensory-informed Design hugely increases the potential of a space.

Instead of destroying the old cabinets it will be very good to reuse it..this old cabinets are much far nice and better then the ones Im using it in my home😭
@lovingmayberry3075 жыл бұрын
LOVE what this channel does!!! HOWEVER! Why do you need to destroy cabinets during demo??? DONATE THEM!!!
@jb67124 жыл бұрын
they were in such bad shape--George said they were held together by just one screw and some glue--that they would have been UNSAFE FOR OTHERS TO USE!!! It would have been irresponsible of George to have donated them.
@Jessica-kk1cz4 жыл бұрын
Jude Lewis I thought the same. Those cabinets were nicer than the ones I have in my house now!
@Jessica-kk1cz4 жыл бұрын
Joyce Blodgett actually what a George said was that they were being held on the wall with one drywall screw. The cabinets themselves were fine to Jude Lewis' point. In fact the old cabinets looked like solid wood to me - even the back was wood. Then old cabinet was attached incorrectly with just one screw (and not even the right type of screw) was the problem. The same danger!would be true of new cabinets if they were held by one screw. What this does also prove is that it would have been really easy to just unscrew the old cabinet from the wall instead of smacking it with a sledgehammer. Shows like this always do the sledgehammer demo because they're on TV. But it's not wise because things fall uncontrollably or responsible from a recycling standpoint in real life.
