My favorite designer ever. I'm on the spectrum and she gets it. Sometimes designers are saying why they do this or that for the children but there is no sense that they actually understand the needs or have any intuition about what will help them grow. She got what the children needed at a deeper level than I've ever seen on any of the other shows.

It's amazing how the show handles ads. I'm happy to learn about who helps the families out, and the local business and trades. Very good strategy.

Best of all, it doesn't feel overbearing. The sponsors involved are relevant pieces in the renovation and the shoutouts to the local businesses is really cool.

the designer really hit the nail on the head. She was able to recognize what not only children would want but children that are on the spectrum. I can't imagine how happy they felt to have their own area that was peaceful and made them feel welcomed to be there

The symbol for autism actually is a rainbow infinity sign, the puzzle pieces originate from the company/charity Autism Speaks, which is an incredibly harmful group that treats autism as a disease, has links to anti-vax and "vaccines cause autism" ideologies. We autistic people do not support them, the harm they do for us, the very little good they make, the money their CEOs make that comes from donations made by the unwitting public, the fact that despite our opposition them being the most donated to 'autism' organization, and so on. We as a community of actually autistic people want OUR symbol to be seen and shared, not the symbol attached to us because of an organization that hurts us! This father has good intentions, as does most people using this symbol, who don't realize its history and impact.
@izabellestevens45844 жыл бұрын
please please please do not use this symbol or support Autism Speaks!

Izabelle Stevens I wish more people knew because At work they are literally doing the autism speaks fundraising right now, and usually it’s made into some sort of competition sadly... all the information we were given was that they help kids with autism through activities and awareness... thank you so much for informing people to dig deeper

When the dad chocked up when George first got their just shows how appreciative he is. My fav part of their episodes is just seeing how excited the families are when they get emotional seeing the final results bc you just see how their lives have completely changed in that moment. I also loved how the dad and the oldest son got to have some time together at the stadium. He’s such a good kid and amazing big brother and I’m sure he doesn’t get much time just him and his parents so that was so cool that they did that for him!

Well geez, this one made me tear up. James is one strong, capable young man, and his parents know he's the 'third adult' and still make sure to have one-on-one time with him. George To The Rescue, thank you so very much for what you do for people. NO matter What they are going through. This touched my heart more then the others because I have three special needs children. My oldest, who will be 30 soon, has severe diabetes and a mental age of about 15, My middle son who will be 28, has Asperger's Autism, and my youngest who's 24 and has a severe form of Mommy Syndrome, which is a severe case of Separation Anxiety. Raising them alone was tough and extremely challenging. I still have my middle son and my youngest son that lives with me and we are trying to get a loan to buy a new home, as the home we used to have was not disclosed to us by my real estate agent that it was a meth house. We were getting sick and lost 12 medical companion animals in 7 years due to the house. I let it go into foreclosure, and now, after 6 years, we are trying for a new home. One where we can live healthy and safe. So on behalf of a Mother with special needs children, Thank you for what you do for so many people! May the Lord continue to bless you and your company, and your family, in all you do.

I know you probably had to due to people being rude because they were "offended" that mom peaked and brought up issues with some of the plans, but she was right and you and the crew admitted it. Thank you for being good to her, I lost a beloved aunt to the same type of cancer and you were kind and accepting of this woman. Thank you. Sorry I had to comment here.
