Unexpected finds are always a thrill when exploring abandoned places such as abandoned mines! In this video, that is exactly what happened! We rappel down an open void underground to find huge underground chambers, hundreds of sticks of dynamite, 100-year-old pick axes, ore cars, tools, and the best-preserved tobacco tin I've ever seen.
The funny thing is- we were going to explore this abandoned mine just to essentially "get it over and done with" because we assumed that the inclined shaft we would enter would just lead to an impasse at a vertical shaft. Needless to say, it led to much more than we expected!
The origins of this mine date back to 1897, mining lead, zinc, and silver sporadically until 1957.
Joining us in this adventure is @ZiaMountainAdventures , @OnTheNextEpisode , and @AbandonedMines11 who will share this experience on their respective channels with their own unique perspective.
This abandoned mine exploring video is shot and presented in 4K and HDR. I recommend for your viewing experience to watch this video with a TV, monitor, or mobile device with a 4K/HDR compatible display. It really does make a difference!

I'm glad you didn't show where this mine was because you know there would be theves heading out to the mine to remove all the artifacts. Be safe my friends.

Wonderful mine fellas. Getting on rope is the ticket. That Bond Street tin was incredible. Thank you for concealing the location/mine info as well!

Thank you so much! Getting to less-accessible areas always increases your chances of finding items intact. We want to keep this one protected. Thanks for the support!

I think that timbering at the beginning was maybe a poor man’s version of square-set timbering. Interesting seeing that chain ladder. Cool effect super-imposing the green Tuxedo can photo onto the footage. That was a lot of dynamite! Pretty impressive how wide that drift was. All those finds were incredible. Never have seen a full ore cart before - they are always empty. And you found several carts next to each other! Still can’t believe that wrench. Huge! The ladders in the main shaft looked solid. They’re on the far side of the shaft, though. That Notice on the wall near the end was unusual. Those spoked ore cart wheels were a find. Almost thought you forgot to include the pick ax footage until I saw it at the very end. So much history just on that one level alone! Very interesting video, Justin.

Thank you so much, Frank! This one definitely deserves another visit! If this is the most shallow level, imagine what lies below? Descending that shaft will be another bucket list item!

Great exploring with some unreal finds! How nuts is that there was still 4 cars down there. Also did you noticed the box of matches in that can with the plums and 2 tobacco cans? Bet that is mega rare, very kewl stuff! Crazy how deep that one shaft was once Joe threw something do there, didnt seem deep with your first throw.. lol Good thing you didnt get too close.. : )

We had an absolute blast! The number of ore cars was amazing. I did see the matchbox, but I didn't even think to check it out. There were so many obstacles down there. We were constantly watching our steps. Lol, that's why I made that comment about "bowling" and, no, I won't get too close, lol! Thanks for the comment, and thank you for watching!

Amazing video guys... the size of that stope is incredible! Complete with square set and all! As a fellow underground explorer, this find is quite cool! Its always amazing to see what lies just outside the places that are easy to get to! I always imagine what it was like before all the upper levels were looted of everything historical.... Thanks for documenting this one for future generations. I wish my mines here in the California Cascades were as dry and well preserved as this.... but even if they were, the government would have closed them years ago, so sad.

Thank you very much! This one was an unexpected surprise. We thought that the decline we entered would lead to a small area to explore. We were dead wrong! Out in our area, we do have a mix of wet and dry mines. Most of them are barren. This one is remote enough to where the equipment is still intact. Thanks for watching!

Great mine,love to explore it,wish you wouldn't have thrown the fuse reel down the shaft just one less thing to see

It is a great mine, one of my personal favorites! The fuse reel is on a cross timber about 10 feet down. It's still in there, lol. There are many of those in this mine. We plan on rappelling the shaft soon, so we'll see what else is in the lower levels.

Always shocks me seeing dynamite just left in abandoned mines....scary thinking what some idiot that could possibly run across it and potentially do with it...
@ABANDONED_UNDERGROUND

You're right. Idiots are one thing. They'll probably maim or kill themselves, picking a stick up and dropping it down a shaft or something (let natural selection do its thing!). More sinister motives like terrorism are more of a concern to me.
