I think that LTPO is the technology that allows the display to dynamically change and resolution and therefore lowers the consumption of battery.

I think the whole punch will be a pill shape in the middle of the top - pretty much replacing the notch and keeping the software at the top/ top corners relatively the same

I wish the 2nd gen Rebel cases were available for the iPhone 11 series... It's the only thing that prevented me from getting one over a Rhinoshield Mod NX. Because of their current face id tech.. They need those sensors - and the notch is where they go. They can improve upon it by making the system smaller subsequently making the notch smaller, Maybe in the future they could bring it all into one small camera system as a hole punch size? Or hide under screen.. But whatever they do, They won't ditch the system cause it's the only face id in tech world that is classed as secure enough for the finance industry to use as security on their applications.

LTPO is not required for Always On Displays. But for Apple it will be required because they will want to slow the screen down to 1hz like the Apple Watch. It is just how Apple will want to implement it.

@@GagandeepSingh-jn6vt just a business thing, right? Like the notched phones are already selling pretty well every year and keeping Apple happy. Once sales decline all Apple has to do is reveal the next big "innovation" (notchless design) and they'll reignite the consumer desire for their brand new phones. I believe that Apple must already have this tech because other companies are pretty much almost there, no way Apple is lagging behind this much especially considering they were one of the first mainstream producers to introduce the true edge to edge phones.

How are you supposed to hear in the phone with the ear piece in the bezel with a case on it. I don’t know why they keep screwing up the mini. Just put a stainless steel frame around it, do a normal camera placement and make it flat like the iPhone 4 and 4S and make it jet black, Snow White and it will sell.

As a structural analysis engineer I really don't understand how hard is it to design a case? All you need is CES Selector and a commercial licence of ANSYS or Abaqus. Of course that and either Solidworks (cheaper) or a SolidEdge licence.
