I finally tried an iPhone. Does Apple beat android for me personally? Get a Teardown skin for your own phone HERE: www.dbrand.com/teardown I've been an Android user for 13 years. But the new Titanium Apple iPhone tempted me enough to try it out. For over 100 days I gave the iPhone a solid shot at becoming my new daily driver. But... well... I don't thing the iPhone is built for me. There are a few features on Android that I just cannot live without.
Its ok though Apple... we can still be friends.

phones these days are very useful in long term and usually the flasgships last a lot longer and stay a lot faster before becoming annoying. I was using my one plus 6 for 6 years before switching to s23 and an iphone se (got it for 80$) for a secondary phone... Having an understanding of the severity of your buildout/project or other situation is the key to using direct texting or scheduling something for a later time. Use the sleep schedule in health, it was strange for me to do that first, but it is mindblowing, how convenient it works, especially, if you add it as a widget to your homescreen. Lol, "grow up" he says. Let me tell you something, kiddo: If you have a really stressful and mentally demanding job, it is imperative to set boundaries for both yourself and your colleagues. If you start responding to work related texts after hours, it's a slippery slope, nay, a highway to burnout. It's not about reading one text message after work, as you so deceptively put. @@erice3525 yeah, his main reason for going back to Samsung was that his phone is a tool and he just wants to get stuff done with it. Ironically that is the same reason I got my first iPhone in 2020 and never went back. I loved Android when I was younger and had time to fiddle with everything, even using custom ROMs. But now that I am busy with life, I have found the stability and "it just works" nature of Apple to be way more efficient. He was right about the ecosystem statement. A few months after I got an iPhone, I got my first MacBook, then my first Apple Watch. Every piece I added, further organized and made things efficient for me. Now I have the complete ecosystem, and for better or worse, I am locked in. I have thought about checking out new Android phones, but then I remember how much there is to lose going that route and how much time I wasted fumbling around between Android and Windows trying to get stuff done. Before I made the switch, I had tried going all in on Google's ecosystem to make things simpler, but ChromeOS just wasn't able to handle my needs and at the time there were lots of other holes in their ecosystem where they really didn't have a reliable hardware or software solutions. So then I went all in on Samsung, but found that Samsung Android devices and Samsung Windows devices hardly play together at all, and it's more a test of your patients than anything, as well as the fact that Samsung's Android is super bloated, and every time I tried doing something new on the phone, I found myself singing my life away on user agreements to not only Google, but also Samsung, as well as having a bunch of duplicate apps preinstalled (one from Samsung and one from Google), even duplicate app markets. So basically I was a life long Windows user, starting from Windows 95 and used Android since 2009, and I had to be dragged kicking and screaming into Apple world. When I got up and walked around for a while though, I actually think the grass is greener on the other side. But thats not true for everyone, so it really is a personal opinion on just about everything.

Here's a few tips for people having the same complaints: 3:00 You can flick it down so it opens fully without draggin it the whole length of the iphone. It still opens the whole thing but atleast its faster. 4:45 You can hold the wifi icon to expand it and press "open wifi settings" or "open bluetooth settings". Still takes a lot of clicks but atleast you dont have to search for the app. 6:16 You can press the spacebar and the keyboard will turn itu a trackpad, its actually much more convenient and accurate imo because i have fat fingers 8:48 You can hold the notification to show the full message or email or whatever it is without reading it. This works with other messaging apps and its pretty useful. You can even open chats without reading them by long pressing. You can quickly open websites, enlarge images, read something quickly, etc. Holding something on the iphone does a lot. Overall, this is a great video explaining the good stuff that apple got right, their stupid quirks, and amazing android features that us iphone users probably have to wait a decade to get implemented lmao. The scheduled messages is probably a feature that made me want to switch the most because i keep forgetting to reply to someone.

You can change the WiFi or Bluetooth with control center. Swipe down from the top right corner. You can use the space bar to move your cursor. Hold a finger down onto the space bar (long press) and it lets you move your cursor around. Or… hold down on the word you’re trying to edit and it gets magnified and allows you to move the cursor. Yup as an iPhone user I’d like to schedule text messages too.

iPhone is also possible. We can easily send reservation messages using automation, You can use the shortcut to know the remaining time until the battery is fully charged. The iPhone can add the next alarm time to the widget and use shortcuts to let you know the remaining time until the alarm. When we modify the text, we can select words and move the cursor with space key, select and delete words on the default keyboard of the iPhone, and use word dictation with voice. To launch the Settings app quickly, you can use the action button or the back tab or the siri. Back is located at the top, bottom, or around, along with gestures.

That's one big problem I've had with iPhone users is that they are so used to putting up with the BS that they don't even realize that it's BS most of the time. When I asked my co-worker why I couldn't just select the middle of a word I had typed on the screen, their response was " Why would you even want to do that??" Then they told me to just select the space in between The word I wanted to change and the word in front of it, completely backspace away the word I want to change one letter of and retype it. The craziest part has been asking people who have used iPhones their entire lives how to do simple things like this, save themselves don't even know that apple has made a way to do it, but has just made it very inaccessible and counterintuitive. I guess that when people first get their iPhones, just as I did, they try to do things and are told over and over that that's just not even an option on an iPhone and to just suck it up and do it how Apple wants them too, So when they run into problems that do actually have an Apple work around, they assume they don't and just make do the best that they possibly can. Shout out to my boyfriend who's never had anything but iPhone and told me there was no way to go back except for a few apps. He told me He's just been closing out of anything without a back button at the top and reopening the app to get back to the apps home screen. I think people think iPhones are simpler and more efficient because when you run into a issue, they're just is no solution, whereas with Android when you run into a problem, there are usually 18 different solutions with their own different pros and cons and customizations. I can understand how a lot of people, especially older people, might get overwhelmed with having the options to customize their phones to best suit them instead of the other way around, but that's why there are default settings to begin with.

Almost every problem, except scheduled massages and the green blue thing, isn’t really a problem, he just uses it wrong. For example, the example everyone seems to be obsessed with the most, selecting in the middle of a word actually works pretty easy. Pressing space long, and then using it like a curser. That’s even faster than hitting the word with the finger while typing. Problem is just, nobody learns these things, because after a few weeks the thought “oh my android” was better gets so strong, that they switch back.

How easy these things are to fix shows the issue with Apple's attitude. They either don't care or very deliberately try to be different, to the detriment of consumers. Either way it's not a good attitude. The iPhone has great hardware and I would be happy to buy it to complement my MacBook and AirPods. Unfortunately they seem to be so used to people just buying their phone by default that they have missed the point where it stopped being the best choice.

@@g33xzi11a There are many occasions when I watch something and instead of stopping the video I would prefer to press a pause, wait until it’s worth videoing and continue the recording. Instead of having 10 short videos, I would have one continuous with all interesting bits in one. Instead I have to use an app to stitch all together. Also for the flash, please try to press the button you suggest and you’ll see that when you take a photo it will still not flash every time, instead you have to press the arrow from the top middle to choose the detailed option where you have to choose flash on, and only then the flash will be switching on every time.

Very valid point on scheduling the text messages. I often find myself in the same situation, where it's late at night and want to send a message to someone, but it's way too late and it could wake them up, or it's simply something that can wait until the morning. What I have to do is copy the link or type the message to them, and then leave it there so I can send it in the morning (if I remember). That's not ideal, I agree. It would be awesome if the message could be scheduled, and I didn't have to remember to go back to message to finish sending. Good point 👍🏻

Massive respect for respecting your employees and not texting them outside of their work hours. Something people might not consider is switching all your devices to the 24 hour clock. Takes a month to adjust maybe, but afterwards you never ever ever set anything to the wrong time again

This is a superb video and best for those who uses their phone at it's maximum potential. FYI: Flash light brightness can be adjusted in Samsung phones, and it was their for quite some time now.

Hold and drag the space bar to move through text, i think you can long press to read a full notification, and you can use shortcuts to schedule messages, although I admit shortcuts are worse, I think to some extent it is the newness, although there are some dealbreakers.

Another small tip: when you want to type a number quickly just hold the 123 button with one thumb and type the number that you want with another and then when you stop holding it it goes back to letters.

Hold and drag spacebar, isnt easy one handed, and when you cant adjust your hand placement. long press to read notifications, again if your in a situation you might not be able to long press anything. You might need or want to just one press to get a result ( also why Android still offers on screen actions and doesn't enforce gestures ) .

For WiFi it’s hold the WiFi or Bluetooth and it opens the simple settings for you, then full settings if you need it. No need to go to full settings each time.

FYI Android has this on top of what Zach was saying about the gear icon. You tap below the icon for WiFi or Bluetooth simple settings, then long press if you want full WiFi or Bluetooth settings.

@@redflagy8no but if you’re using Samsuck you’re doing it wrong. Go over to a Pixel phone if you want android. As for Apple no they don’t have secure folder. Can put it in a note and secure the note. But not the same. I’d love this feature. FYI I’ve used both. Enjoy both for different reasons. Hate Samsung overtime love the idea of a Pixel.

The lack of splitscreen multitasking (So I can't have a calculator open at the same time as a shopping list), the lack of sideloading, non-transparent widgets, and how much of a pain it is to transfer files (or music) to/from my computer (Probably because they want to sell their cloud subscription service) was a dealbreaker for me. I never really used FaceTime. But with my time with my iPhone, I liked the Face ID system (Less effort than pressing my finger tip on a fingerprint scanner), the dedicated mute toggle (So I can mute a game and set things to vibrate while I have KZbin or music going in the background), and the camera quality (Which I still feel like is the best camera I've had). Had an iPhone 13 for three years and had enough of dealing with a lot of the downsides, especially with the recent stuff going on with the EU. Apple doesn't really have the jailbreaking scene to fall back on in terms of adding new features (and the jailbreaking scene has been falling behind in terms of updates), and there's still plenty of features on Android that are just missing on iOS. Traded it in for a recent Google Pixel Fold, and I can already say in the two days I've had it so far that I like using it more. I definitely think the flashlight is a downgrade though (and for some reason has more of a warm tone to it).

I respect your opinion, and it was nice to see a more level headed evaluation rather than bashing. I’ll point out that iPhone can do most of the things you want if you know how - even the text scheduling, though it requires setting up a shortcut so not as built in or intuitive. You can mark emails as unread in a couple ways including quickly swiping right and you can long press on any email to get a full preview like you want. My swipe down shows the date at top so maybe I have a setting I didn’t realize I turned on. Also, if you had the calendar app or a widget you wouldn’t even need to swipe down at all. The green bubbles are nice to know when I’ve lost internet connection or my friends phone must be off or not connected to the internet. It’s a quick visual indicator I’ve come to rely on. Getting to a point in text when holding can be done on the spacebar as well and when that’s your plan it’s very fast and more reliable than tapping where you want. I suppose it’s more about what we’re all used to. If I tried to use android for 100 days I’d have a similar if not longer list than yours. Glad we have choices and no one is forced to take one over the other. Plus the competition feeds further development. Nice video 😊
