Having an understanding of the severity of your buildout/project or other situation is the key to using direct texting or scheduling something for a later time. I really appreciate your honest reviews, but one major flaw with Apple-and a significant deal breaker for me-is the difficulty of using an iPhone while traveling abroad. If your App Store is set to the US, you can't download native apps for the country you're visiting. And if you want to change your App Store country, you're unable to do so if you have any active subscriptions. On top of that, creating a new Apple ID for the App Store deletes your saved Apple Music and other settings, which is incredibly frustrating. In contrast, with the Android Play Store, you can switch between multiple Gmail IDs associated with different countries. So if I'm in India, I can download native apps by switching to my Indian Gmail ID, and if I'm in the US, I can use my US Gmail ID for US-native apps. This flexibility is a big advantage that Apple currently lacks and makes me to come back to Android everytime.

If you start responding to work related texts after hours, it's a slippery slope, nay, a highway to burnout. It's not about reading one text message after work, as you so deceptively put. It's about sustainability. But you will figure this out eventually (not that I think you actually had a job)

Proud Apple fan and fanboy here. I appreciated a lot of the points you made here. I know nothing of Android, so this was all new info for me. I’m surprised that you feel like Apple doesn’t protect the user from theirself. I always thought the opposite was true. I feel like Apple tends to lock down a lot of things and prevents users from tampering with and fouling up things. I feel like Apple wants to have tight control over and ensure a predictable user experience; and I love that about their products. Also, the idea that you would have to spend $5,000 to purchase an Apple personal computer is more than a small exaggeration. Even though Apple products can cost twice as much as most brands, I feel like I get so much satisfaction out of experiencing the sophisticated designs of their hardware and their software. And yes, much of that satisfaction comes from interacting with and working within their walled-garden ecosystem that so beautifully ties together all your devices via iCloud syncing. Also, Apple products have longer usable lifespans than most other brands-and higher resale value. Thanks for producing this video. I learned something and it challenged my views. I think it’s awesome that you tried an Apple phone. That’s more than I can say about myself (I’ve never tried android).

Doing job is a commitment. If you cannot send a message in working time and trying to schedule after hours then your are the one breaking your own rules. This scheduling is just a bluffing feature which is useless. Calling is different than texting. Workers can refrain from opening message after hours. @@erice3525 yeah, his main reason for going back to Samsung was that his phone is a tool and he just wants to get stuff done with it. Ironically that is the same reason I got my first iPhone in 2020 and never went back. I loved Android when I was younger and had time to fiddle with everything, even using custom ROMs. But now that I am busy with life, I have found the stability and "it just works" nature of Apple to be way more efficient. He was right about the ecosystem statement. A few months after I got an iPhone, I got my first MacBook, then my first Apple Watch. Every piece I added, further organized and made things efficient for me. Now I have the complete ecosystem, and for better or worse, I am locked in. I have thought about checking out new Android phones, but then I remember how much there is to lose going that route and how much time I wasted fumbling around between Android and Windows trying to get stuff done. Before I made the switch, I had tried going all in on Google's ecosystem to make things simpler, but ChromeOS just wasn't able to handle my needs and at the time there were lots of other holes in their ecosystem where they really didn't have a reliable hardware or software solutions. So then I went all in on Samsung, but found that Samsung Android devices and Samsung Windows devices hardly play together at all, and it's more a test of your patients than anything, as well as the fact that Samsung's Android is super bloated, and every time I tried doing something new on the phone, I found myself singing my life away on user agreements to not only Google, but also Samsung, as well as having a bunch of duplicate apps preinstalled (one from Samsung and one from Google), even duplicate app markets. So basically I was a life long Windows user, starting from Windows 95 and used Android since 2009, and I had to be dragged kicking and screaming into Apple world. When I got up and walked around for a while though, I actually think the grass is greener on the other side. But thats not true for everyone, so it really is a personal opinion on just about everything.

As an only-iPhone user, the back button argument really hit me. I am used to figure out how to step back in any app thrown at me but I can recognize the value of a dedicated back button. I used an iPhone for a month, and that was one of the biggest sources of frustration for me. Especially in certain circumstances where the home gesture inexplicably behaved as a back button, a specific case I can remember is trying to exit the camera if you've opened it from the lock screen. If I recall correctly, you can swipe to the side on the lock screen to get to the camera, but you can't swipe back to get back so you can actually unlock the phone. You have to do the "home" gesture (???) to get back to the lock screen, THEN unlock it. I'm glad I tried an iPhone for perspective, but I just had too many frustrations with it (does any think the settings app makes any sense??)

That's one big problem I've had with iPhone users is that they are so used to putting up with the BS that they don't even realize that it's BS most of the time. When I asked my co-worker why I couldn't just select the middle of a word I had typed on the screen, their response was " Why would you even want to do that??" Then they told me to just select the space in between The word I wanted to change and the word in front of it, completely backspace away the word I want to change one letter of and retype it. The craziest part has been asking people who have used iPhones their entire lives how to do simple things like this, save themselves don't even know that apple has made a way to do it, but has just made it very inaccessible and counterintuitive. I guess that when people first get their iPhones, just as I did, they try to do things and are told over and over that that's just not even an option on an iPhone and to just suck it up and do it how Apple wants them too, So when they run into problems that do actually have an Apple work around, they assume they don't and just make do the best that they possibly can. Shout out to my boyfriend who's never had anything but iPhone and told me there was no way to go back except for a few apps. He told me He's just been closing out of anything without a back button at the top and reopening the app to get back to the apps home screen. I think people think iPhones are simpler and more efficient because when you run into a issue, they're just is no solution, whereas with Android when you run into a problem, there are usually 18 different solutions with their own different pros and cons and customizations. I can understand how a lot of people, especially older people, might get overwhelmed with having the options to customize their phones to best suit them instead of the other way around, but that's why there are default settings to begin with.

Almost every problem, except scheduled massages and the green blue thing, isn’t really a problem, he just uses it wrong. For example, the example everyone seems to be obsessed with the most, selecting in the middle of a word actually works pretty easy. Pressing space long, and then using it like a curser. That’s even faster than hitting the word with the finger while typing. Problem is just, nobody learns these things, because after a few weeks the thought “oh my android” was better gets so strong, that they switch back.

It still opens the whole thing but atleast its faster. 4:45 You can hold the wifi icon to expand it and press "open wifi settings" or "open bluetooth settings". Still takes a lot of clicks but atleast you dont have to search for the app. 6:16 You can press the spacebar and the keyboard will turn itu a trackpad, its actually much more convenient and accurate imo because i have fat fingers 8:48 You can hold the notification to show the full message or email or whatever it is without reading it. This works with other messaging apps and its pretty useful. You can even open chats without reading them by long pressing. You can quickly open websites, enlarge images, read something quickly, etc. Holding something on the iphone does a lot. Overall, this is a great video explaining the good stuff that apple got right, their stupid quirks, and amazing android features that us iphone users probably have to wait a decade to get implemented lmao. Really great video as I'm phone hopper who currently is back on my Pixel 8 from the iPhone 14 Pro. Some really goods points and comparisons made but what really grinds my gears of difference is the inability to dismiss an alarm in iOS. With Andorid if I wake before my alarm goes off all I have to do is swipe down tap the alarm notification and select dismiss. This turns off the upcoming alarm but leaves the alarm on for the next day needed. This is important since if I wake prior to my alarm with an iPhone I'd have to turn that alarm off so as to not wake my partner and hope with the business of the day I remember to turn the alarm back on; frustrating! Oh, and on a last note way to drop known acquaintances; while I don't know the person personally, they're very popular, admired by millions so you must be fairly cool as well 👏

@@scottwilkins I think you missed the point. Using a phone for 100 days is a good grip on how well it is, compared to most reviews that are 1 week. He also didn't claim its a review, just his opinion. a lot of these reason I can agree with are annoying. I personally want swiftness and concistantcy and don't care as much about what color my messages are since android allows you to choose any color. things like this doesn't matter day to day. The only 2 features I would possibly want from phones are imessage, and facetime. What features do Iphones do better then android? 1.Cameras are subjective and per user opinion, as many android phones have been more voted on in a blind test. 2.Most people who say they want imessage on android is only because apple wont allow their custom rcs to be public, and overall imessage does nothing better compared to android messaging apps like textra. 3.All phones seem over all fast, and realistically with newer phones we are talking about 1 second differences in speed, not to mention people don't need a ps5 power level in their pocket. 4.Plenty of android phones focus on insain battery life. Apple doesn't make bad phones by any means, but I see no real reason for them to be popular outside of social static. They don't value cutting end tech as all new features they have added have been focus on other android phone features.

Massive respect for respecting your employees and not texting them outside of their work hours. This is something that many employers seemingly have forgotten about with the advent of real-time messaging and smartphones. As on iPhones, it doesn't exactly tell you, you can do this or that. They try so hard to differentiate themselves from Android, that they take it out on their own consumers. Cuz having helpful stuff be easier to access, that's apparently an android thing. Though, not all android is the same either. Depends on manufacture, as many have their own tweaks. Like lg has animated home page scrolling. HTC has similar but depended on device, Samsung has/had displays that would briefly mimic the current weather when unlocking, (was originally an HTC thing). Some are much easier to navigate, others not so much. Gotta be fairly tech savvy if you had a device that was pretty much vanilla, without all the nanny shit found in brands like lg, Samsung, Motorola, Sony, etc.

iPhone user adding to the list: The Bad: - Camera flash: Great, but needs 3 Clicks to be activated: Dropdown - Flash - Activate. - Bad Gyro: When taking pictures (especially when altering position Up/Front) it has a huge problem detecting weather to save the image in horizontal or vertical format. This would not be such a deal-breaker if it wasn't happening so often and there was a way to easily turn multiple images. Instead you have to click 5 times to adjust orientation on every single picture: Click on picture - Edit - Crop - Turn - Save. - Deleting multiple contacts at once: Not possible! One has to open the corresponding Contact - Edit - Scroll down - Delete - Confirm Delete. My findings follow the same theme as yours, making the user experience a nightmare instead of boosting productivity. The Worst: - Apple does not give a damn. They'll keep un doing what ever they find useful and not listen to their actual users - The reason why after more than 12 years of Apple, I'm seriously looking into Android phones (reason why I'm watching this video). PD: Greats to Taylor ;)

Some tips which might be useful: - For quick access to setting, you can long press the quick toggle panel in control center and it will bring up additional options (long press WiFi, BT, etc. will bring up even more options) - For quickly editing text, you can long press the Spacebar button and use the keyboard as a trackpad to position your cursor. It’s pretty easy to use. - I don’t really use Gmail app but native email notifications will let you long press on it to view more. You can also long press on a mail in the native mail app and it will “pop-up” (technically “peek”) to let you read without marking it as read. I have both iPhone and Android (as a software engineer). They will both be as fast as each other in most task once you get used to it.

He just doesn't know how to use iPhone since he got so used to the knock off of iPhone for all these years lol. Yeah you can do all those things and much more on an iPhone. I feel that Android phones are pretty limited because they're not as powerful or as innovative when it comes to hardware engineering. So every app is just less detailed on android. Every game is at a lower graphical quality on android. The drag and drop from one app to another app is a cool multitasking feature from iPhone and it's finally on Galaxy. iPhone came up with the voice isolation feature that is now barely making its way to Galaxy smartphones. iPhone has Face ID and it was the first phone to debut the technology. And iPhone has the highest performing display of any smartphone every single year that a new iPhone comes out. It's also usually the brightest display ever created at the time a new iPhone launches in September. Battery life on iPhone is another thing that has always been superior on iPhone compared to a galaxy Ultra. So I just feel like i'm not getting my money's worth with a Galaxy Ultra due to how cheap its operating system is. And knowing that 90% of its features were on iPhone years ago

Furthermore, the automatic text correction on the iPhone can be problematic. I completely agree with all of your points. What I've learned about phone switching in this video is that when we stay with our devices for a certain amount of time, we would develop habits around using that certain device. The other side might sometimes seems like "the grass is greener" for some time and when we switch everything feels just wrong. It's not just something simple as changing from one phone to another, it's changing from a complete set of tools and habits to another, which takes time and drains energy. However it is exciting to swap around once in a while. I've been using iphones for over a decade and develop apps for iOS. After using an "about-to-be-thrown-away" android device from my family member for a few weeks I'm back in my childhood days of tweaking settings and customizing stuff around the phone, everything is so fresh. It makes me appreciate what both sides are trying to do, and helps me understand why apple and iOS have such a distinct flavor and user base.
