Exciting New Pentel SPARKLE POP Product! [This is a Game Changer]

Great video!!! I love your enthusiasm (well deserved!!!) and I absolutely love your little doggo!! LOVE these Pentel products. In Europe they've been around forever under the name "Dual Metallic" for the gel pen, so your intuition that it's the same for the new brush pen product is confirmed, I guess "POP" is how they're marketed in the US (and I wasn't able to understand what the crazy pop is, i.e. how it's different). They come in 12 colors in the gel pen options. BUT let me blow your mind, they released - maybe a couple of years ago - a new version of the Dual Metallic gel pens which have a mix of TWO glitter colors over a different base color. They come in 8 shades such as light purple/metallic red and blue, blue grey/metallic blue and silver, turquoise green/metallic red and green, light pink/metallic green and gold, silver/metallic copper and green and light, green/metallic blue and red. Needless to say they are just as much fun but they are different and I am super glad that Pentel didn't discontinue the old colors because they're not interchangeable. So your prayers for more colors are actually answered, if you can get your hands on the European colors. This makes me truly wonder what is sold in Japan. One more thing, you mentioned watercolor briefly, I confirm that they are water soluble which has pros and cons, can be used like watercolor but obviously not water safe. I've bought every shiny watercolors under the sun and NOTHING - not even Finetec - compares to these Pentel beauties used a watercolors. I agree with you they're really something else and not only so in the gel pen department! Also the brush version are much more expensive in Europe, they sell for anything from 9 EUR per pen to 35ish for the set on Amazon. The pastel colors also have a European version (I haven't seen one for the neons) and I agree with you that they are disappointing, especially so on black paper where they're simply not opaque enough. I think the problem is that they're 0.7 mm while the dual metallics are 1mm, so the thickness gives more oomph on black paper. However, at least in Europe, Pentel recently released a super matte gel pen called Mattehop. They are supposed to be SUPER opaque on all kinds of colored paper and come in these colors (in 1mm size): black, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple and pink (cost about 17 EUR for the pack of 8). They're supposed to be like for comic type pop art and they are just as lovely as they sound. Completely the opposite of the shiny dual metallics but brilliant and unique in a way that only Pentel can do. So cool!! I remember the first time I saw these. One of the Coloring Bliss colorists kept posting pages that had the most amazing gel pen glitter accents and I loved the look so much! She told me the name of the pens and I thought the “dual hybrid” name was weird but I bought them and WOW they were fabulous! The early pens were slim but I liked the new release “Sparkle Pop” with the larger barrel which were easier to hold. The only disappointment with them is that I love the red color but you only see it on the back paper. I also love the purple but you don’t see it on the back paper. But overall I love these pens. I just ordered the brush pens. Can’t wait to play with them. I join with Jennifer to say to Pentel MAKE MORE I will buy them.

I hate to bust your balloon, but these have been out for years. I think I got mine about 5 years ago. The gold will go into a yellow, orange has some green overlays, silver used lightly is a blue silver. I love these pens. I'm a calligrapher so they work well for that. But really love all the metallic watercolors you can get now. They too come in chameleon colors. Give little Rose a kiss for me.

WHOA!, You won me Over!, my sparkle Pops I and my kids would buy a case of 10 at a time for black/ burgundy..ans blue/ green. NOW These..OMWOW! They are absolutely worth the money. These are the ones I told you about months ago. I got mine at Amazon when they were first day released. They are alot of ink. Mine are still going strong. They work well with atercolors, markers, colored pencils... now they move very well with just a small amount of water on a brush. They are extremely fun, Jennifer you can swatch them for days with different mediums. Yes they willsplatter everywhere if cap ain't on. I love them...have fun

@@shufamshumate1689 you can put a bit of the ink in a pallet and use a bit of water and start painting. The ink is so very water soulable even when it drys. If your doing a project you have to spray something down to stop it from moving

I’m in the U.K. and we’ve had the brush pens for a couple of years. I have had to replace the gold and silver as I use them most but the others work fine still. Storage is horizontal and that helps.

I have found them bleed through on Lulu mayo books, so I base with ochre or grey pencil then use the brush pen over the top

Thank you! I love my Sparkle Pop and did not know about these pens. I've already ordered a set. Another recent find for me that I love are the Spectrum Noir Sparkle brush pens in colors! I've used their clear sparkle pen for years to add some shine to non-shiny mediums, like colored pencils. The only bad thing I can say is there are too many colors and I want them all. LOL

I have had very back luck purchasing Pentel's pens. Out of each package, at least two of them won't work. I thought maybe it was bad luck that I got a package of pens that had defective unusable pens in it. So I purchased another of the same pens and that second purchase gave me defective pens as well. The pens in particular that I'm speaking about are the Krazy Pop gel pens. The sparkles and milky ones I had no problem with.

Thanks for mentioning this. I love my Sparkle Pop, but the Crazy Pop not so much. Maybe I've gotten some defective ones also. The color comes out okay, but it seems like there is not nearly enough of the glitter color. Hope that makes sense.

Can you use the regular Sparkle Pop pens over these new brush pens? Like if I wanted to use the blue brush pen to lay down color, could I then use the silver (or another color) on top without disturbing the bottom layer or will that layer get "plowed up" under the pressure of the pen point? Could I use a white gel pen on top or will the white gel get discolored by the under-layer bleeding up into it? Thanks!

They look the same, but they physically can't be the same ink. The ink in the brushpens is way way way thinner. It has to be, because gel pen ink has the consistency of a really firm gel. That consistency would never come out of a brushpen. Brushpen ink often has a similar consistency to water
