Why do the piers on both sides look quite different? Do they not need to follow the same standards?

I believe a certain standard has been established, just that maybe it looks different as the rise in elevation portion is nearer to SG side, hence the difference in piers design.

2:07 stressing fail? box girder segment looked lifted up at middle part

Looks like an error while lifting, possibly why they are fixing the launching gantry. The first viaduct segment seems to have hung up for quite some time already and doesn't appear to be stressed yet.

I don't know what's so exciting about this. Obviously the old train will be demolished and using this will not be cheap. I expect this to cost at least $5 one way and price will definitely keep rising in the future for them to recoup their cost.

Well, this would potentially allow more people to travel faster by train and benefit the people of both sides, compared to the current KTM shuttle trains which is also about 5sgd per ticket, with tickets selling fast and sold out for weekends.

TBH i hope they will retain the old train or even upgrade it. As this will surely help with the causeway congestion even more

The old trains are definitely convenient. We hope that they will either retain it or upgrade the track to accommodate ETS trains so that they can launch an ETS network from Woodlands directly to KL and leave the RTS for commuting.

This is a more technical video than others. So, the bridge is done by 2 parties? One by China and the other by Singapore civil ? Singapore has this Sinophobia will ban anything Chinese. (They themselves are Chinese, ha) I see this project as a land expansion for Singapore. Malaysia again loser letting Singaporeans commute MRT , live in Johore, play in Malaysia, work in Singapore, pay Singapore tax…

Each country appointed their own contractors in building their side of the bridge, but i have no idea who got the contracts . The middle 3 piers are the midpoint where the contractor works from both countries will meet.

@@thebiannualtravellers This is what I suspected. Your video clearly shows one side is China contractor. Without further look, I know it’s Malaysian side. Cheaper and better.

because singapore is an ally to USA and their singaporean netizens always critisizing communist china, while Malaysia remain neutral but has a great relationship with China

I didn't expect a construction update to be turned into a political pundits forum but I guess that's KZbin for you
