We’re covered up in hogs here in S-SE Oklahoma. Great footage, it takes a cool character to not only get that close but to stay when those hogs are being real vocal and are rutting. Lets a solo hunter find out what he’s made of!

Yes. Thanks for keeping it real. I lost a doe after busting my ass trying to find it and I was sure it died (liver/ gut shot) and I felt really bad about it. Previous to that over the ears I harvested like 10 + trad no problem. The one lost one Almost made me give up trad hunting. I bet even Howard Hill lost some. But a friend put it in perspective by telling me nothing gets wasted in the woods.. it disappeared but other animals had a feast (coyotes, raccoons, crows…). Mother Nature recycles

Yep I imagine you will be feeling the effects of the hurricane Friday some time it's hitting us Thursday evening Them hogs are hard to get when they are like that because they are always moving and it did look like he was slightly quartering to so he probably lay up a day or 2 and be right back at it Nice Hunt good luck to you on your next hunt

Hate you lost the hog, but guess what. At least you out there in God's country able to try again! Just being in the swamp chasing them pork chops is a blessing in itself, i sure do miss it. Almost 70 now, shot my first pig with a recurve back in 1975 on the Alapaha river swamp near the Ga Florida line. Hope to retire soon & God willing I'll be back in a swamp somewhere in middle or south Ga slinging arrows once again. Thanks for all you do for our way of living and may God bless you and your family

Video idea? Question? I’ve got the traditional bug pretty bad now. It’s mostly your fault I love the channel. So the question. I’ve picked up Grayling MI bows for years when I come across them in good condition. And it’s all I have right now. I’m going to use my compound this season but would like to switch to traditional soon to give me time to get confident before next year. Should I set up one of my grayling bows? They are all recurves. Is there degradation in the fiberglass or epoxies? Should I invest in a new bow? I would probably buy the Montana or Au Sable cause I’m a bear fan. Your thoughts are appreciated as well as anyone else that watches. Thank you.
@robertcarte953 ай бұрын
@@timfetters7471 those old Bears work great. I have hunted with them before and still own one Kodiak takedown. The Best Montana is a fine bow. I have a 14 year old friend that has taken his first deer and hog with one this year

Thanks for taking us along on your hunt. That hit sure looked good to me, as best I could see in the video. I would have thought you would have found that one for sure. Wishing you better luck on the next opportunity. How heavy are the arrows you're shooting out of that bow? Also just curious, how are you carrying your arrows, now days? Are you using that Creek Walker quiver on a sling?
@robertcarte953 ай бұрын
@@nevadafitch5647 I use a Dawgware Quiver and my arrows are just shy of 600 grains. Thanks!
@nevadafitch56473 ай бұрын
@@robertcarte95 Thanks, RC. Yep, I know you like that quiver a lot. Mostly, this year, I will be using a 54# Howard Hill Tembo, and well broke in, Nate Steen backquiver, but I also have a Grayling Bear Kodiak 57# recurve with a bow quiver mounted on it, for those other times. Waiting to see you bag a hog or deer on your next hunt, hopefully.
