Excluding a Z-Wave Device in SmartThings

If you have GE paddle switches from jasco you have to press the top switch inhumanly fast three times them on the thirds time hold the top button. You have to have your finger on the bottom button while pressing the top them as fast as possible you have to press the bottom button first. This is if it is a jasco switch. I find that they fail permanently( stop working) I have 4 had I have had to replace. I don't know about the c by ge switches.

What about from thier new app? I can't seem to find the menu to do that.....

I'm not sure about the new app. I'm moving to Home Assistant due to SmartThings being mostly cloud based.

They don't make it easy! Locate the Smartthings hub in your devices list. Click on it and give it a second to populate all the connected devices, then tap on the three dots in the top right hand corner and choose Z-Wave utilities.
