Neither the media nor fans will ever need to pound on Wilson for a bad performance because they think he might need motivation. I promise you that if Wilson shits the bed on an occasion (and let's face it...even hall of famers have bad games) he will beat the living shit out of himself more than any media or fan ever will, probably too much to his detriment. He will live and die with the performance of the team. Give the man a boost in a down-turn rather than a beatdown. I promise you that if he doesn't perform to our expectations it will not be for lack of effort or caring or love or loyalty. I became a fan of the black n gold ever since. No reason other than we were the Steelers. I now have a dedicated room for that same team to this day! I have seen many losses, and 2 Super Bowls! But when Russell Wilson joined there was something that drew me to him. Maybe because he showed how strong his Faith was with God, or how compassionate he was that he went and supported the Seattle children hospital that really touched my heart. As a Hawks fan who has watched virtually every game Russ played as a Seahawk, I will say Steeler fans should be excited. I think it's funny how commentators that said Russ was washed out last season are going on about how this is a match made in heaven. He was never washed, it was a bad match in Denver with expectations as big as his contract. Thing is he should've never have been expected to carry the team, no QB should. Fact is, the dudes a smart, tough (just look at his consecutive starts record) with a fire to compete. I think this is a next phase for a really good player.
