***UPDATE: MAY 2019*** as of may 2018 her murderer was found by DNA that was on her body and a sprite bottle she was caught on camera purchasing. His name is Christopher "Crisco" Spencer. He was convicted and sentenced to life for another double murder. He is also charged with several of his fellow gang members of Rollin 20s gang for another double murder of 2 teens in Jonesboro. When he was convicted, his DNA was taken and put through the database and it was found to match the DNA found at the murder scene in 2016. Hope that helps folks!! 😁

Update: In 2018, Atlanta police arrested a man named Christopher Spencer in connection with the 2016 murder of Bridget Shiel. He was charged with murder, aggravated assault, armed robbery, hijacking a motor vehicle and gun charges. At the time he was charged, Christopher Spencer was actually in prison serving 2 life sentences for gang-related murders he committed (also in 2016). Spencer was incarcerated in Macon State Prison--as part of his initial processing at the prison, Spencer's DNA sample was taken & submitted into the DNA database registry. The sample immediately got a hit--matching DNA had been found on Bridget Shiel's body, as well as her dress & a sprite can that were both found discarded in some trees a few hundred feet from her abandoned car. Unfortunately, Spencer's motive is unknown; nor has the other potential suspect involved in her murder been named or arrested. May Bridget Shiel rest in peace, & may her grandmother find some comfort from her loss & grief.
