not exactly what happened, from the total accumulated information it seems that warner and maybe a couple other higher ups discussed this idea and brought it to Bancroft. Yeah that’s the sad thing however we can’t accuse anyone if and until the full story. With everything that we know now I think that Cameron and Smith are good blokes and have learned there lesson and the test show coming out we have learned that the whole Australian team has changed the way they act on and off the field as the new head coach Justin Langer has showed. I’m not to sure on how David Warner has been lately however we do know about plenty of times where he has crossed the line with abusing opponents on the field and with strong evidence pointing towards him match fixing, so Warner is a different story I can’t make a judgment on how he should be handled by the fans and the icc. I think most people blew it out of proportion, yes they cheated, but they have learned there lesson there is no room for abuse in the game and people shouldn’t only see these people as cheaters but as human beings some people still haven’t forgiven them yet it should never be forgotten but we should forgive.

He has learned from his mistake. My thing is the 3 could not be the only guys in the team who knew about it. The 3 that were impacted were batters surely the bowlers saw the condition of the ball changing. Secondly CA issued punishment that where ineffective. As an England cricket fan I wonder if it happened in the 2017/18 ashes?? I will say that they made a mistake, they’ve been punished and I hope they’ve learned from it. They deserve a 2nd chance though. Everyone who makes a mistake does. He got back in the test team for the 2019 Ashes in England. That was a remarkable achievement. Unfortunately he didn’t have the best series and was dropped. I still think he’s one of the best opening batsmen available to Australia at the moment. Pucovski is probably the future opener if he can get his fitness sorted. I think Bancroft has had his time in the test team for now though.

There are so many people in this world who would have done exactly the same as this trio, and thats Bancroft, Warner AND Smith ... they all played a role and all are truly sorry .... there is nothing more real in life than the pre & post-event thought processes which are usually completely different - people do these things every single day in different aspects of life, those that say they don't, probably just don't get caught. From my point of view, there is a lot in this interview which suggests his moral compass is still not quite right. He talks about wanting to front up and tell the truth to the umpires yet at the same time he was still lying about what he used. That lie was deliberate, it wasn't misspoken, it was considered and suggests that he hadn't learnt. I really don't understand his comments following Gily's question about lying about the tape. It just sounds like trying to detract from the question to query why people were focusing on what was used. If he is genuinely contrite then he would be fully honest about the lie and why he lied again. The shame about the whole thing is that I am not sure all the lessons have been learned. Captain Grumpy hit the nail on the head when he questioned the scope of the investigation and the findings. Unless the boys are fully upfront about the situation, we will never know, but I'm sorry to say this, but there is enough to suggest that this wasn't the first time and in fact that Cameron was involved in cheating in England before the saffa series.

Made a mistake and didn't cry like Warner & Smithy
@RuanAntunes7 Жыл бұрын
People felt sorry for Steve Smith & David Warner when they should’ve been feeling sorry for Cameron Bancroft. He was bullied and forced into partaking in this ball tampering scandal by his captain and vice captain and he got punished for it. Obviously what he did was wrong as well but Smith & Warner were the masterminds and in all honesty they should’ve gotten harsher punishments for this scandal. Bancroft’s promising career was cut short because of it regardless.

16:40 oh STFU, putting this on others. Saying those who are calling you a cheater are making you emotional because they must have their own failures or done something similar. What an absolute joke. You were a grown man who could have said no.

He’s a grown up who should have had the balls to refuse to do what he did. However, he comes across very well here and his apology seems completely genuine. Good on him. The ‘leadership group’, however, should never be forgiven. Bunch of bullies

Smith and Warner targeted Bancroft, and that was unfair to him but I wish he opened up with more detail instead of deflecting to "I didnt know any better, I just wanted to fit in", it just comes across as if he'd do it again if pushed.

Know all about the incident, but 1st time seeing this. Cameron knew what he did was wrong, was cheating, saying "I didn't know any better" is BS! The blame game is BS! Davey and Steve are also to blame, for suggesting it. All 3 Cheated, no question, no excuses. They All knew it was cheating. They All deserved their punishment. They deserved the Aussie public to be Pissed off at them for this Un-Australian act! But, they paid the price, the world moves on. Everyone deserves a 2nd chance.

With no moral compass, some people don;t know the difference between right and wrong behaviour. Their only consideration is "can I benefit from it?" Newsflash to all young players trying to "fit in" - SCORE MORE RUNS!!! You could ask yourself "What would Jesus do?" but that is no longer fashionable.

Funny how the other two involved were from NSW and the main bowlers in the Australian team at that stage were all from NSW and NSW had been dominating shield cricket for a while, just saying the obvious on behalf of a impartial and objective friend. Bancroft was not the from the NSW clique, so he was expendable.
@abalaji914310 ай бұрын
By accepting wat he did, he has confessed, thereby management can always point out this particular video and not select him, 😢, smith and Warner escape because they are more valuable to the organisation. it's a typical corporate practice to fire an employee by coercing to give a self evaluation. Happens alot in corporate world. Shame on Gilchrist to be a part of this. But karma always hits on the face of those who conspire And grants success to those who work hard irrespective of all conspiracy. Bancroft will find success one way or the other. 😊

Some say it's Warner who kept in that shoes. Some say it is for team he did. But guys let us keep it simple. Whether you do it for game,or for team or for individual, you have brain and you decided to do it. You need pay for that. For God sake 🙏 don't ever sympathise for such incidents and people. They were supposed to ban for life time but they ran away from that. God is still generous to these liars and cheaters of the game. We got to know since we had seen this incident live in TV. There are many such incidents,where we haven't seen and so.no sympathy for such incidents. Who ever it might be.

Only just watched this. What gave me crows feet is the “if I said no and when I went to bed that night…” Geeeeez, um you would have gone to bed with your pride and knowing you did what just about every Aussie cricket fan wanted you to do. Unfair to be put in that position no doubt, but that’s for another rant. Aaaaaaand, the press conference after play, “I’m proud we wanted to be honest and accountable”. But you weren’t thooooouuuughhh!!!!! Youz tried to BS your way through it coz you got caught. I don’t care about pressure, everyone else doing it, whatever! That was an embarrassment from the start and it’s still not over coz everyone from the bottom up is trying to protect their own asses! First time I’ve ever felt ashamed of that team and organisation as a whole. Pathetic.

Had he been a 50 yr. old guy being asked to cheat for his team he would have said NO.
