I’m from DESTIN things born and raised in Panhandle. The little boy they found wandering 2 years old had hard time even finding a family member was from the Navarre area. The coast is full of million dollar houses and condos. Full of wealthy people. But growing up there no one realizes that if you just go 25 minutes north of there it becomes Thick woods and brush but also VERY VERY poor and backwoods gangster. The people in those areas are hard and have nothing to lose a lot of drugs and theft. I would suspect he’s more from that area. Navarre from the gulf coast is considered where the poorer beach people lived. Instagram has exploded the Emerald Coast which used to be known as the hidden secret. So things may change a bit but I suspect it’s not much different. Not putting anyone down just speaking the truth. 40 minutes the other way is Destin and you never hear of major crime there.

Just fyi..Birmingham has experience in these types of cases-albeit it’s been awhile. They did everything they could to TRY and protect my children. When they found out my ex, his family, had connections to LE in Florida, Birmingham police did everything they could..even after he took my children overseas & disappeared, fleeing from the charges in Al. Unfortunately, there’s only so far they can go. It was the legal system in Florida who protected my ex. To say it ended up disastrously is an understatement. My ex died of an overdose (after convincing a Florida judge he didn’t touch drugs and it was all ME trying to hurt him), my kids came back..but had serious issues-my daughter can’t have children bc of the abuse (again, after Birmingham police didn’t believe ME-but DID believe the children and medical professionals who examined them. Florida? I was yelled at by the judge for making false accusations against my ex). My Son is gone. My ex had started sending us pictures from overseas of giving my son alcohol..at age 12. He thought it was funny that I couldn’t do anything about it. My son had about 6 months sober when he relapsed last year. Birmingham WILL do what they can to help. Hopefully, the authorities in Navarro are a lot better than in my hometown. (Just to clarify..the local PD TRIED to help, but his brother was in the Sheriffs Dept, his Dad was close to the Judge. The situation should NEVER have gotten to the point it did. My pleas for help when he almost killed me and threatened my children were not only ignored but mocked and I was suddenly the “bad guy”. He managed to destroy MANY lives; all with the help of his family and their connections. I hope to God this family gets the assistance they need and PLEASE, whatever the turnout; make sure ANY children involved get counseling. Domestic violence Justice has come a long way since the 90’s; but we still have a LONG way to go. The biggest parts of that are making sure the cycle stops; and getting rid of “the good ole boy” networks.

@@bestbargainfashion5575 I had a WONDERFUL counselor, in Birmingham, who told me as angry as I was back then; that to wish harm on my ex was wrong. “Let God take care of it, you will see his Karma.” My ex died from an overdose a few years later, overseas. My incredible children came home; but I can NEVER forgive that monster for what he did to my children. The kids tried to tell me that was wrong & I should at least forgive his family. Last year, my Son returned to our hometown and, against my advice, stayed with his fathers sister so he could save up money to return to work with his friends in Asia. His aunt convinced him he wasn’t an alcoholic, it was ME who had convinced him he was and that he needed to celebrate getting his VISA approved. He drank, and never woke up again. Sorry, but my ability to forgive these people is gone. They knew how close my son and I were-despite their efforts to continue to separate me from my children. All because my parents removed my children from any inheritance. They removed me too..but it was the children being removed that they took as a personal attack against THEM, as THEY were somehow entitled to it. They promised me I would pay for that for the rest of my life. Personally, I see that as evil. I am blessed that I got away from them with my life. I just pray my daughter can move on to have a healthy, happy life. She and her fiancé have started the adoption process and she is living 2000 miles from the family now. 🙏🏼
