Roland thank you for this interview. As a TN resident and TSU Alum, I needed to hear this detailed unedited perspective. I wish Dr. Glover spoke like this before they forced her out, but I know it would’ve only expedited that action. We have to own the housing issue, but had it been relayed that the JLL contract was 1.2 million a month, we could’ve gotten behind her on that issue. There is still so much that has not been put out that needs to be spoken and researched to see the depth of this issue.

As is the case for a lot of black women, she is being demonized for being assertive, knowledgeable and sure of the circumstances impacting the situation the school is in. Whoever told her to "it's time to stop blaming the state" when they are in errors in excess of 500million due to underfunding from the state....needs to never work for any organization again! That is the most ridiculous statement any sane person can make. The students of Tennessee State deserve the same funding as every other state funded educational entity.

Y'all will always have problems in Nashville if you keep making this a "black woman" issue. You miss discovering the true game that's been played on y'all.
@educatorforlife5723Ай бұрын
@ A bit of perspective: I made my statement fully understanding that most of the opposition she is receiving is coming from black people. Ex: the interim president blames her, college staff told her, to let the money go, etc. This is not about race in the way you interpreted it. It's about demonizing her efforts BECAUSE she's a black woman. Had her black male counterpart (the interim president) raised the same issue...he would have been fully supported. She should not have to fight this battle by herself...especially if she has evidence of funds owed. Yet here she is....on a ledge by herself. As a black woman, I can assure you, the lack of progress has less to do with "making it about race"....and everything to do with the absence of loyalty and commitment to change, within the race. This discussion is not a division worthy topic. It's business. If the school is owed money, they should get it. Everyone connected to the college, should be in step with that goal.
@WhoDatWhoАй бұрын
@@educatorforlife5723 The point I am making is the average citizen of Nashville do not know the critical details; the history, the financials, the business practices, nor the relationship challenges between T.S.U. and the State of Tennessee. So you know the majority of the citizens outside of Tennessee looking in definitely don't know those critical details. Identity politics always distracts the majority from the much needed to know details of any important problem. The simple act of prioritizing one's gender and or race can be counter productive and a turn off. People get emotionally charged when you prioritize gender and race before all of the business facts. Keep these senseless internal rivalries up and T.S.U. will be for sale. Supporters should prioritize all of the business facts, make a business fact based legal case against the State of Tennessee, take it to the supreme courts, and reframe from identity politics.
