People underestimate how much of an engineering marvel this really is. For a bridge built this far out at sea, to withstand all the natural forces and still have an estimated life of 120 years is nothing short of a miracle. I know this because i was an Embedded Systems Engineer on the project.

We started the survey of this bridge alignment in 2004 when I was working in a private firm as a geophysicist. Since then there were lot of changes in the alignment of the bridge considering the ecological factors and other socio-economic factors. I am no longer in Mumbai now.. but seeing this project coming to a logical conclusion is a proud moment for me too.

Union government and modi has nothing to do with the bridge cause they wanted to focus on samruddhi mahamarg highway so they refused to pass the bill and as it was uddhav thackrey's dream project so he passed the bill from mmrda in 2017 and started the construction of the bridge, it took 7 years to build the bridge and 17000 crore rupees approx. No role of central government in this project 🙏

One of classmates has been project engineer way back 2019 when it just started drilling and structural work. He used to go around 8 am and came back after 12 hours. They worked under highly hot and humid condition of the sea. We are proud of him
