EXCLUSIVE: 'Dynasty' Star Linda Evans Reveals the Moment She Considered Suicide

She may have been one of TV's biggest stars, but the soap opera queen tells ET she had dark days when she thought about ending it all.

Linda was our neighbor (with husband John Derek ) in the late 60's , in Encino , Ca. Their dogs used to sometimes come on our property and Linda would be at our front door to apologize and retrieve the dogs . She was always so sweet and nice . Not to mention gorgeous . I was only about 10 but even then I knew she had to be one of the most beautiful women I would ever see .

So sorry to hear of Linda‘s struggles, as she was my idol, when I was a little girl, watching her on Dynasty, and she seems like an extraordinarily lovely and kind human being. She is not some arrogant movie star, but rather acts as a real person who isn’t full of herself which makes her even more lovable and well respected. Thank you, Linda, for revealing your struggles with back pain, as I i’ve struggled with excruciating back pain and at least a dozen surgeries, since I was 21, and I am 54 now, but that Pain has claimed half my life and almost all of my dreams and hopes. Thank you for bringing a face to back pain and making people realize that it can bring you to the depths of despair, as I have been suicidal many times. She is so right when she said that living with that kind of pain isn’t living at all but just existing, and no one should live a life like that. I hope all back suffers find some sort of relief or are cured because it is a hell like no other. While being in excruciating, all consuming pain is bad enough, but when you can’t move your body because your back hurts so much, it limits your life almost onto non existence. I am so grateful and humbled that in 2019, after discovering the lost mode of prayer, literally, in five minutes, my broken back was cured, and a year later I saw a CAT scan of this miraculous healing, and a broken back was put back into place, as though nothing was ever wrong with it, but of course the doctor thought that I had finally achieved a fusion, and I thought that it’s medically impossible, 30 years after the fact which speaks to the arrogance of doctors and their god complex. If they really could fix a bad back, mine would’ve been fixed, when I was 21, after having my first surgery, and I could’ve never imagined that I was going to fall into the deepest despair for 30+ years and suffer untold pain and horrors thanks to my broken bad back that no doctor could ever cure. Thank you Gregg Braden for teaching me the lost mode of prayer, and May it bless everyone! There is a KZbin video on the 🙏that healed my back, and it has given me other miracles, as well. Depression is a treatable illness. It is manageable with therapy, medication, the courage to admit you have it - confront it, become more self aware, reach out for help. I am so pleased Ms. Evans is doing better and has reclaimed her sense of wellbeing. I truly wish the same for the unfortunate Shelley Duvall, who it seems, has suffered far longer, but additionally... also been in denial.

Linda was to "Dynasty" what Barbara Belle Geddes was to "Dallas" The Maternal figure that held their respective families together. So sorry to hear of her recent health problems. My Mother knows what it feels like to be in constant pain. She had a knee replacement 9 years ago, and a hip replacement 2 years ago. Now her replacement knee needs replacing, and she is going nuts living with constant pain. She is scheduled to have that done later next month (February 18) I just pray to God that she will pull through because she is 80 years old now and keeps telling me she is tired of living. I know what that back pain is like. I went through 2 years of serious depression after my mother died in 1996. As time went by I got sciatica. I was in constant pain 24/7. The pain was so bad I could not go to work. In the end I trained my mind not to dwell in sadness, pity and depression. Sure enough my back pain went.

I had excruciating back pain for around a year, many years ago. I could barely bend down or tie my shoes. It felt like if someone was pinching, squeezing and twisting my lower back with a wrench. Indescribable unbearable pain! I go to the doctor and after taking X-Rays and giving me an exam where one bends over and he feels the spine as it goes down, he tells me all seems fine and then tells me to go to Cora Rehabilitation Center. As I sit at the rehab center and see burn victims, people with broken bones and people that have had a stroke, I ask myself, "what am I doing here???" How are exercises going to relieve my back pain when it hurts like crazy to just move?! Then I remain seated waiting to be called in for the 2nd rehab session when I think to myself, I never have any dairy products and I don't have any calcium at all. A light bulb went off in my head as if I just knew this was the reason and the answer. I left without my session and went straight to the store and got calcium supplements. Within a few days I was already feeling better and after a week, the horrible pain of an entire year was completely gone! This was many years ago and never again have I had back pain. I'm telling this story just in case others have not explored this. Men are even told they barely need calcium and it's just not true! Women of course need even more calcium. I take "Now Foods Calcium Citrate". Even though this might not help everyone, I do hope this helps someone since I know how unbearable back pain can be!

I felt that when i was 24 or so w undiagnosed migraines ... Nothing would get rid of my headaches for 2 yrs nothing helped doctorts would prescribe high doses of anti inflamatorry meds nothing hlpd i asked God to take me bcuz the pain was awful finally went to hospital ct showed high inglammation on my brain... They gv me morphine and took me off all meds for 3 months i was diagnosed w migraines and thank God they went away🙏🏼🙏🏼
